McCharacters Music Cafe & Sports Bar PERMANENTLY CLOSED

I dont even know where to start with this INCREDIBLE place!! In one statement...There's no place like home at McCharacter's. I have lived in Palm Coast for 2 years and have looked for a place like McCharachters! They do have delicious food with a huge variety of choices and the food is great! However, my review is in regards to the family like environment that I love so much. I feel safe there. And you never hear that about a Restaurant!! The Entertainment is like nothing else in Palm Coast! From the hottest dance music and karaoke (with the best DJ, Julie) to live bands that rock! As for the service/servers, they clearly have hands down the best and MOST BEAUTIFUL servers around. I have made some new awesome friendships with the servers there and that too is rare to find! But that's what I love and environment that treats you that way!! They are kind, considerate and always on top of things not to mention great drink specials. Always service with a smile at McCharacters!! This is definitely the spot to check out. You will not be disappointed!! Thank you McCarrick's you have hung the moon with this place and congrats on the NEW addition in New Smyrna!!

I love the fish and chips and being Irish myself, well, it's a grand place for being" meeself"!
We sat on the patio and the server made our afternoon! Sweet, helpful, not too intrusive, but
her presence made us smile, laugh and joke and that invited nearby diners to join into the
fun they heard and they ended up sitting with us! It was a lot of fun and the portions were
generous, the beer cold, the entertainment, varied and we really enjoyed ourselves.
We recently heard about a coconut fish sandwich and I'm so anxious to get back to try it.
My hubby loves football and with all those TV's, he'll be very content! Great job McCharacters!

McCharacters rocks. It is the only place locally I can get "bangers and mash" a dish I got in the UK. The staff is always quick to take care of me and I am a hamburger fanatic and they got good burgers too! Worth a visit, there is a reason why they are so popular!

My husband and I love the coconut fish sandwich at McCharacters. The new manager Kathy is friendly and is really doing a good job.

Great to stop in for lunch or dinner! Great food! Great people! Then at night on weekends turns into the hottest place in town! Can't wait to try the new location! Looks amazing.

My hubby and I love this place. The food is great, the staff is friendly, and it's so much fun just to hang out there. Love the Shepard's Pie, nachos, garlic wings (my fav), my sis loved the coconut grouper sandwich, and hubby loves the Jack Daniels burger. Great big salads too. The prices are just right for the food servings and taste! Drinks are made perfectly too! Glad to have this place near home, we really don't go anywhere else! Thanks for everything!

Great place to come and spend some time with my great friends. I love the live music I can find most nights of the week and the no cover UFC fights. Its the best place in town to catch anyone of my favorite sports teams. If its not on one of their 40 some televisions, they do everything they can to find the game and put it on the best TV for me. Gotta try the Ahi Tuna. Fantastic!

I've become a regular since I moved down to Palm Coast about a year ago. Love the staff... you guys rock!

My husband and I held a Sweet 16 Surprise Party for our daughter at McCharacters Music Cafe & Sports Bar on Sunday, August 15th, 2010. Here's the tall order that owners Marty and Kerry were able to deliver. We wanted to host a celebration that had something for both young adults and us seasoned adults. We wanted to be sure it was fun for all invited. We wanted it to be special for our youngest daughter. It had to be "cool" enough for her friends to want to attend; had to have good food; had to have entertainment; had to feel like it was "our" special space; had to be clean; had to be conveniently located; had to be transformed into a Sweet 16 Party atmosphere; had to happen in a short amount of time, (we gave the proprietor's less than a week's notice); had to be within a sensible budget; and we wanted to be able to ENJOY it too. We didn't want to miss the fun by having to do all the work ourselves.

Sounds impossible to accomplish without spending a fortune. But, it did happen at McCharacters. Too good to be true? - NOPE. We're here to tell you that it was truly as fantastic as it sounds. We couldn't have asked for more, but if we did, Marty and Kerry would have made sure that happened too.
Everyone in attendance enjoyed something from pool tables, to listening to the DJ, to partaking in karaoke, to watching their Sunday Sports event, to hanging out and visiting with each other. We had our own manager and waitress to oversee and take care of our large group of approx 60 guests. We even had our own Bartender to serve any adult in attendance. The food was plenty and delicious. We were able to pick our own menu and the presentation of the food was excellent.
We were able to supply our own decorations and just drop them off with the McCharacters Staff all pitching in to help decorate. We were able to bring in our own cake and our waitress cut it and served it with no extra expense added to our bill. Everything was definitely top notch. Many of our guests raved about "how nice this party was".
We had checked out other venues in town and none were able to even come close to matching what was provided here at McCharacters - and the total cost was so reasonable. If you are planning on having a celebration of any kind, this is the place to hold it. Be it baby shower, wedding shower, bachelor party, work seminar, anniversary, birthday, family reunion, you name it - this is the place to hire for your event. You will not be disappointed, only thrilled. Thank You Marty and Kerry for providing us with this luxury right in our own little Palm Coast.

My husband and I have been to McCharacters on several occasions with friends for drinks, to hear the band and dance and we've always had a great time. The service and drinks are great and we love the big dance floor!

Looks like someone has been working on the food here. My first visit did not leave a very good impression on me, but last night I was invited their by a friend and the food was very good. I had a Jack Daniels Chicken dish wish was great and my friend enjoyed his seafood platter. We were a little frustrated with the server as she was slow and seemed to be everywhere but with us. But overall we liked McCharacters and will be back.

Best place in town to hang out. Always great food, always great entertainment and a friendly staff. We go for the Rock and Roll trivia every Tuesday afternoon. Fun and prizes!!!!

I haven't been here in awhile. I heard I had to try the Coconut Fish Sandwich. It was unbelievable! Like eating coconut shrimp with grouper and you get tons! Service was great and my husband even commented that he wanted to stay for another drink because it was such a friendly atmosphere. New menu. You have to try this place. Had a great time.

Service is what lets this place down. I have visited three times now and twice the food was good and once not so good. But each time the service was bad. The servers seem to forget you're there and are very easily distracted. I really hope for a good Irish pub in Palm Coast and think this has a long way to be one.

I have owned a blues bar/restaurant and worked in a few bars as a young adult. I'm not a young adult anymore! However, McCharacter's ROCKS! My 1st time there; I was greeted with a HUG and a SMILE from one of the kitchen staff...he seemed genuinely HAPPY to be there...I still get hugged each time I go there! Yipppiii , and if you've seen the staff...no one reading this would mind getting hugged from this Gorgeously Friendly Group!

Now lets talk WHY I go there (by the way I drive 40 miles one way) For... Friendship... ICE-COLD Corona Lights and MUSIC! I LOVE Live Music! Each time I've been there I've danced... and trust me.. there are some bands out there, that you CAN'T dance to. They have a NEW face at McCharacter's his name is 'Greg Stryker' and MAN can He SING! If you like Acoustic sets.... go see him. Very entertaining!!! I'm not into sports but Good Lawd they got enough TV screens to entertain a sports junkie. I've only ordered Chicken Quesadillas and chicken fingers...and they were YUMMY. I go there to PLAY and have FUN! If you want an uptight 5 star Restaurant with a snooty wait staff and a steep bill to go along with it, go to a Ruth Chris's steakhouse or something, and stay far away from McCharacter's...however; if you want a diverse place to become a part of...Stop by. Introduce yourself and Have some Fun... I'm certain they will remember you and will welcome you each an every time you return, they do me! : )

New Years Eve find me at McCharacter's. I want to finish and start my New Year in a FFS (Fun Food Spot). Mmm Philly Steak and Onion Rings! Mc Character's Palm Coast... "Best Sports Bar"!

After a bad experience at another sports bar we decided to try McCharacters for a second time. We brought our whole family visiting for Thanksgiving and went on Wed. Mexican night. The Chicken quesedias and chimichangas were better than I've had at most Mexican restaurants. My husband tried the new crispy grouper with Caesar sauce and it was delicious. We all had something different and there were no complaints. Our waitress Fernanda was very attentive and friendly. The kids had fun in the backstage room while the adults were able to eat and have adult conversations. The band was good and we're glad they now have a dance floor. This is truly a family-oriented restaurant and we have no complaints.

I love this place. ALL of the staff are super friendly. They have great food and serve it late which is always a plus in my book. I've had their burgers, chicken sandwiches, salads, soups, steak and never never been disappointed! The service is quick and precise and never leave you waiting.

Coldest beer in town too! Another great plus. The entertainment is by far the undisputed best anywhere in this county. Live entertainment on one side, DJ and Karaoke on the other, tons of TV's with every game or fight everyday. Not to mention and outdoor area for all you horrible smokers! LOL (Ex-Smoker Haha.). Did I mention the staff rocks? Oh, I i did? Well, it was worth mentioning again! :) Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.
