McCharacters Music Cafe & Sports Bar PERMANENTLY CLOSED

Used to be a good place in Palm Coast, now I refuse to go there. Everything is too loud; the next day my throat sounds like I smoked an entire pack of cigarettes because of yelling to the person sitting next to me. They are always out of things on the menu. They were even out of 2 types of common beers last time I was there. Every time I get convinced by my friends to go back I reassure myself I will never go back. There are so many better places in Flagler County..

Took forever to get waited on while it seemed the bartender's friends were getting the special treatment. Ordered potato skins to wash down with my warm beer and received them with no sour cream. Server, and I use that term loosely, said the cook used it all earlier and they were out! I told her I didn't want them and please take them off my bill. That was met with a confrontation with the cook, and I also use that term very loosely, who told me I could take them home and use my own sour cream! Never have I been to a dirtier, more poorly staffed pub anywhere. Never again and its a shame because I live in Palm Coast. Shame on you, owners and management, again using that term very,very loosely. I just hope no one gets sick eating there!

it has been a while since we went out to this place. Food was very bad. Out of the items that we wanted to order. Greasy french frie. Even the Pepsi or ice tasted funny (old, dusty) . After we asked waitress about problems she never spoke to us again and just left the bill and ran.

I go to McCharacters to play poker; always a great time with great friends. Karaoke, food, atmosphere and friends all rolled into one. What more could you ask for?

I'm not a negative person and not the kind to complain but after the other night i felt i had to! we have been there a few times and it gets worse every time, this time it was for my boyfriends birthday... the drinks were horrible... capt. Morgan did not taste like capt. Morgan! 3 things I tried to order from the menu they were out of!!! the waitress was very rude and clueless and offered no reason for being out of what we wanted to order. the food we finally got was horrible and not even served on on plates! I got a Philly steak which i couldn't eat (it was so bad) my boyfriend had a burger , he finished it! we will never come in again.

I don't think this place gets enough credit. Hardworking family that I always see there, but I have to say the FOOD is amazing. Best wings in town by far.! Flavorful and Big! My wife had a salmon dish that was out of this world, my sons had Burgers that should of been written out of a fine dining magazine. Their burgers were stacked high with a knife in it to hold all of the goodness together. We got there around 7:00 and their son Joey was singing and performing on piano and guitar. We were blown away. i can't believe that this kid and his little brother that performs with him aren't famous. Someday we will be watching them on T.V because they pumped out hit after hit and I think it was the best dining experience my family has had in a long time. We didn't want to leave. The wait staff was awesome, and after they played they moved right into karaoke which was fun. This is Palm Coast hidden jewel. We will be back as it is our favorite place in Palm Coast.

We love hanging out with our friends and family here. They have the best burgers and their flatbreads are to die for. You can actually have any of the sandwhiches made into a flatbread, just ask like I did. They were very happy to accommodate me. Will definitely keep going back for the fun, food and family oriented staff!

Drinks are good and cheap, but don't eat there. Even the chips and salsa sucked. No kidding!

Fun and lively place with a good neighborhood type of atmosphere. Food is good. Some items have been excellent and some just OK, but you need to see what's best for you. Burgers are great! Overall I like it here.

We have not been for awhile. Corned Beef was great. Cheeseburger was as good as i remember it was. The only thing that was not great was the Chicken Wing soft mushy, they took them off of our bill when we told them. Next time I will try the boneless wing that waitress offered to replace our wings with.

My goodness, for a sports bar setting, this place has amazing food and such a great selection of items! We were expecting just wings and burger's but we instead got to indulge in possibly the best Ahi Tuna I've ever had, Deviled Eggs, Shepherds Pie and a generous portion of grilled blackened fish ceaser salad. The portion sizes were very large and everything was so flavorful. The waitress Susan was charming and explained an Irish Nachos with homemade chips and corned beef that we saw come out that we cannot wait to come back for. This place is fun filled and offers so much more than a lot of other places around. GREAT prices, friendly staff and such a variety of choices. KUDOS McCharacters!

Fun place to hang out with good drinks and food. Nice varied menu with something for everyone at prices that won't break the bank. Staff are cool but could do with more when busy.

McCharacters is a very fun and lively place with a neighborhood pub type atmosphere. Food is good and they offer a large variety of items. Service is not always the best especially when busy but as long as I have a cold beer I'll wait for the food LOL Check this place out!

We like McCharacters as a place to drink and visit with friends. Their bar type food such as the wings and burgers are very good, and my wife enjoys their coconut fish sandwich and gyro. Drinks are good and my only complaint is the service can be improved on.

I took my boys (16 & 12) to eat dinner just the other day and WOW!!! Everything was great. I had just been to Philly a few months before and tried several (5 in 2 days) Cheese Steaks... who would have thought the best one I could find would be right here in Palm Coast at McCharacters. Congrats to the Chef.. The boys raved as well. We will be back for more!!!

I really like thge atmosphere in here! It's fun and non pretentious and the food isn't too bad eaither. Only complaint.. some servers can be terrible but others excellent. Overall we really enjoy McCharacters and recommend you check it out for yourself.

Not the greatest food in town, but it's still very good with some great choices not found elsewhere in town. The atmosphere is fun and lively but service can be spotty at times. Overall though a very good choice for a meal in Palm Coast.

This past Sunday my wife and I were invited to McCharacters with another couple for a relay for life fundraiser. After just looking at some of the reviews on here I can say some things have surly changed. As soon as we arrived we were greeted and told to sit where ever we pleased to. Another server came over and explained that with our donation we could choose a meal off a select menu. Our friends had told us that McCharacters is currently rolling out a new menu and some items were on the menu for the day. We ordered a chicken pesto and sun dried tomato flatbread. PERFECTION!!!!!! it was amazing. We asked to speak to the owners and they came over and sat with us to explain all of the new things on their menu(they say the seafood flatbread is even better) I have to say hands thus was such a wonderful experience. The highlight o the day was getting to hear some wonderful local bands. The owner and his son played which was amazing but also the owner of golden lion was there and was equally as good. What great musical talent we have here in palm coast. Overall we we very pleased with the food and service. We can't wait to go back when the new menu is fully released.

I went to McCharacters for dinner with a friend and our kids on St Patrick's day. When we first arrived, we had to ask for menus and a server, nobody came to our table. We waited two hours for food and it never came. About an hour and a half after we arrived, I asked for the food to go and to pay my bill because at that point it was time to get my kids home and ready for bed, and they hadn't had dinner yet. I paid the bill at that time. When the food hadn't arrived 1/2 hour later, I asked to cancel my order and just pay for the drinks. The manager's only comment was that it was the busiest day of the year. There was no apology. We're pretty low-key people, and were trying to be understanding that it was very busy, but this was truly the worst service I have experienced in Flagler and Volusia counties.

Went there with friends for the first time Super Bowl Sunday. What a surprise and a little slice of heaven for the sports enthusiast here in our very own little town! Not only do they have the BEST wings, by a landslide in Flagler but the burgers were to die for and we shared a coconut shrimp appetizer that was out of this world. They kept the party going all day and night for the big game and had great specials. The owners were pleasant and you could tell they were making sure everyone was having a great time. I was really impressed also by how the staff all really attentive. It's amazing how they had it all together. We will be back for more real soon.
