Finally ! I found a Mexican restaurant that actually shakes your margarita and pours it into a salted glass, and what a great "cold" margarita it was. Tequila selections and mixer varieties to add to the fresh lime juice are great. I'd go here often just for drinks. When I say "just for drinks" I mean it. Food-wise I had the asada taco's entree. The beef was cold and so scarce I couldn't fill both taco shells with it, even though I added the rice and black beans as well. I've never eaten Mexican food with so little taste. The black beans were in no sauce and rolled around the plate like stones on pavement. They tasted totally bland. The rice was a fluffy looking scoop on the plate and very inviting. Alas, it was also totally void of flavor. While I thing the staff and ambiance exceeds both Finns and the Golden Lion, and I'm looking forward to stopping in again for the great margaritas, I won't be eating.

Just tried for the first time and very disappointed. The enchiladas were more like burritos and very dry. The salsa was so chunky that you couldn't even dip the chips in it. The queso dip was $5 and so small that it probably amounted to a couple of tablespoons. The fajitas were very dull and drab with no flavor. I will not be going back. The margaritas were good but hard to drink out of a mason jar. The atmosphere was the only thing that saved the evening.

Im not sure where to start this review. Usually I try to say something nice about a place, but I can't find anything nice to say. The food was skimpy at best and not at all authentic Mexican. Bland and tasteless. The service was terrible. I finally had to get up and request my food. It took so long to get our food, by then I had a headache from the loud music and banging pans from the open kitchen. I asked for the food to go just to get out of the place. If you sit outside you have the smokers to contend with, inside the loud music, and the upstairs those terrible high seats that are totally uncomfortable. I'm afraid the place is a jumble of well intentioned ideas, but it just dose not make for a a fine, fun dining experience.

Best Petron Margarita in Flagler Beach, hands down! Nice crowd, good atmosphere, decent music and bands. Good weekend spot!

First time having lunch here and although the restraint has a unique ambiance of looks together with great view of the beachfront, that's where it ends.
The old adage "your employees can make or break your business" has never been more apparent than here. Really poor management of waitress staff (working two many tables or at imposingly different sides of the restraint) so it's unfilled drinks to cold food incorrectly ordered (chicken instead of beef). Honestly we where there two hours and saw the server three times.
Something needs adjusting here when you feel obligated to chase down the manager to locate your waitress, in order to get your check and end the painful dining experience.

Service was a little slow, and not the friendliest around. We sat inside because it was extremely windy. The staff acted a little too casual around the guests, and most of them looked a little sloppy (not professional at all). We got our food in about 45 minutes or so... A little long for Mexican cuisine. I'd say the general consensus in my group was that their meals were "ok." If you're looking for real authentic Mexican cuisine, I would try something else. I'll probably go back for drinks, but that's about it.

Was so disappointed. I had a chicken enchilada and and since several of us had different dishes, we were sharing samples with each other. I cut off 2 slices and shared them with friends and started to take a bite myself when I realized my bite would be ALL tortilla wrapper! Even after cutting off 2 slices. I asked the server about it and she said that sometimes the filling falls to the center - so I cut the center and yes, there was some filling but it still wasn't much. Most of our group didn't care for their meals any more than I did but one or two of the appetizers were good.

Decided to try this fairly new restaurant and was very surprised. I had heard some negative things about it so I decided to try it out myself. They now have a new chef who really knows what he's doing. The food was nicely spiced and was well presented. The service was very good. I will return.

Best Margarita and best roof deck between Daytona and Jacksonville. Finally Flagler has a Mexican joint and plenty of tequilas to chose from. Favorite dish is Chile Relleno and my favorite tequila is Herradura.

Was not impressed with the food, for Mexican the portions were small and nothing to write home about. The atmosphere however is great! Good place to go for drinks.

Be careful what you order. I ordered a shrimp ceviche. Waiter asked if either appetizer or entree, I told him Entree. Shocking to get bunch of chips and about a 3 oz glass of ceviche. The ceviche only had about 2 table spoon of tomato and shrimp and the rest are all garnishment. What a joke for $9.99.

Went for lunch and we shared the fajitas. They were fresh and delicious unlike the ready made stuff from other beach side eateries. Complimentary chips and salsa were also very good. Both of us had a couple of drinks and enjoyed the ocean view from the bar. Will go back and bring friends. Too bad they were given such a hard time about the upstairs deck. A great addition to an area with terrible restaurants.

The chips & salsa, and rice and refried beans were great... but that's where my good comments end. First, our waitress seemed unsure of several things. When asked questions, she rambled rather than give a direct answer. There were 4 of us and we ordered food and fountain drinks. She brought four sodas - three were okay but the fourth was so pale you could see through it. Upon tasting, it was nasty. Can't understand why she would even bring it to the table when it was clear it didn't look like the other 3. The drinks arrived with very little ice, so we had to ask for a glass of ice. Our food arrived - all four of us ordered something different. The sauces/toppings had some flavor but the dishes themselves were very bland. I had chicken enchiladas; however, it looked like a burrito because it was chicken and cheese in a flour tortilla, not corn. It included some skin, fat, and even a piece of bone! All four of us concluded that overall the food had no taste.
Then there's the atmosphere issue. We sat inside to avoid smokers and it was freezing at our window table! When we asked if the temperature could be adjusted, we were told no because the cooking area would be too hot and that the vents over our heads could not be repositioned. So we moved to another table. Turns out it was a bit warmer, but the A/C vent was dripping onto the table and into one of our plates. The move put us closer to the cooking area. We could barely carry on a conversation due to pots dropping and clanking and cooks hollering. It also appeared they were playing different music outside/upstairs, which we could hear along with the music inside - not conducive to a relaxing dining experience.
We know the owners also own A1A Burrito. We hope they don't decide to close A1A. If Fuego Del Mar would offer the same menu as A1A with some expansion, maybe we would give it a second chance!

Just came from having lunch there. I will not go back! I was expecting the type of food he has at his other place, A1A Burrito works in Palm Coast, which I love! The food here had no flavor. The meat was dry. I think he wanted to have a more upscale menu. The food had a nice appearance but it just wasn't good . The menu is small which they say they will be enlarging. However if they don't improve the taste of the food there is no need to enlarge the menu. Water dripped on me and my food the whole time from the condensation from the air conditioner. This place needs to make some changes. I would really would like to see them make a go of it.

I had the green chili burro with green enchilada sauce. My wife had the chili relleno. They were both great. The service was spot on. We met the owner, Nicholas. He was great! We will return.

Not good at all...My chicken enchiladas were mushy and bland. the refried beans were no better then canned. . My wife ordered the beef chimichanga, The beef was cold on the inside (I'm talking refrigerator cold) The tap beer was warm. The chips and salsa were good, but big deal. We were very disappointed. Maybe a decent place to go for drinks, but not to eat. A tourist trap.

If you have not been there, do not bother going, we were so disappointed. I think they have a lot if work to do. The menu is extremely limited. The waitress said they will be adding to the menu once things get straightened out in the kitchen, did not understand that. The beer was not cold. The chips were loaded with salt, which we do not care for. Salsa was good, had great flavor. I ordered a side of guacamole which I did not care for. My husband ordered the pork and pineapple tacos, he said the flavor was good but he could not eat half of the pork because it was full of grizzle. I ordered the chicken enchiladas, again flavor was good. It was served in a flour tortilla not corn tortilla, which enchiladas are usually served in. We both had the black beans which were great. My husband really liked the rice, I thought it was okay. Great location, will also be nice when the upstairs opens. Would go for drinks, not for dinner for awhile.

Horrible! Food was terrible we ordered chicken and it tasted like dry pork. We took one bite and wouldn't eat it. The manager never came over and refused to take money off of our bill. I will never go back. Clearly Golden Lion is the only place to go Beach side.

Atmosphere and location are awesome! Great drinks and 2 for 1 Margaritas on Tuesdays! For a round or two of drinks by the beach this place is good, but for Mexican food... or food in general not so good at all. Spare yourself and your wallet and skip the food, it isn't authentic and you can kind of tell they are more alcohol focused than food.
