This is one of Flagler Beach's must try restaurants. It's food is awesome and the service impeccable. They really know their seafood here and how to prepare... read more!
Review of The Net by George by Tony from Palm Coast
Took my family here for Father’s Day. Food was average. Two tables requested the manager which took 15 minutes to hear their issues, one table left after an hour and no food. Other told the manager food was unacceptable and left. Very disappointing

I love these old school beachfront places! The wreak of Florida culinary history and they take me back to my younger days with family. The food here is traditional fair and done very well. Their fish fry is awesome, with generously sized filets cooked with nice crispy batter, and my son loves their shrimp scampi. Service is always top notch for us and everything is reasonably priced, especially considering the cost of seafood these days.

Being a pescatarian, I am eager to try anywhere with a decent seafood menu, and The Net was highly recommended by neighbors but sad to say it wasn't the best. First, the building is very drab and uninviting, and the greeter did not have very good greeting skills, but our server was at least much better. The menu is an 80s time warp with nothing modern or remotely interesting featured. The Clam Chowder was a good start, but my Grilled Salmon had little flavor and the Oysters were dry with way too much breading. My wife had Coconut Shrimp that were no better than the frozen variety from Publix, and the Thai Sweet Sauce was just straight from a bottle. There are no cocktails and just a very mainstream wine and beer selection. Overall, a very boring and uninspiring place I see no reason to return to.

Not our most favorite meal in Flagler Beach. The menu is very typical with no original dishes and all items you can get anywhere up the coast. Service could have been more attentive and the atmosphere was dull. It did the job.

Enjoyed The Net by George for lunch today and I have to say this place lives up to its expectations! The first thing that stands out is how fresh the fish is, they say it's locally caught and you can definitely tell! I had the cracker crumb file fish and it was flaky and delicious! My husband had the Belly clams which were out of this world! The owners were both there and made sure we liked our food and enjoyed our time! Also the view is incredible! 10/10 would recommend!
Highlight of visit: Sweet tea, crab dip, file fish, belly clams

The Net By George is hands down the best seafood in Flagler Beach. I have been going to The Net for a couple years now and every time time I try a new restaurant I leave wishing I was at The Net. At this point I have pretty much tried everything on the menu and it hasn’t disappointed. Some of my favorites are the New England fried Belly Clams which are the best in town. The Sesame Seared Ahi Tuna is always so fresh and cooked just the way I like it. From their specials menu I always love getting the Stuffed Flounder with Crab Meat Stuffing and the Italian style Red Snapper! I always end my meal with a slice of the Orange Sunshine Cake or George’s home made bread pudding if I’m lucky. Not only is the food amazing but the staff have been nothing but friendly over these past couple years. I have come to know the owners as well as the wait staff and it’s always nice to know when I come to The Net I feel at home. I have recommend all my friends and whoever is reading this to take a trip to The Net, you won’t be disappointed!
Highlight of visit: Amazing food and staff

It was OK, but I found the food relatively flavorless and could only taste the seasoning and frying, not the seafood. Fries needed to be cooked longer and linguini less. Service lacked personality but did the job OK. It feels like this restaurant is living in its past and hasn't evolved to more modern needs. There are better choices for the money.

Looking at all the other reviews, it seems like I'm one of the few that didn't enjoy it here. From the outside of the building to the inside, to the food and the staff, everything is really dull and not very inviting. I wasn't very impressed with the outside, and once I entered, it just felt like a dated throwback to when I was a kid. Even the woman that greeted us was a miserable unsmiling old school mam type who didn't lose that sour look the whole time we were there. Apart from the prices, the menu could have been written in 1975, and I found it hard to choose something. I ordered the Calamari as an appetizer and Clams Over Linguine for my entree. The calamari tasted like the old they were fried in, and the marinara was flavorless. The Clams were tough, and the linguine was just overcooked boxed pasta. I don't doubt all this place's positive reviews, but they didn't come close for me. And to be honest, I think that sour faced greeter put me off from the beginning.

The employees were very welcoming and it's cozier and more inviting inside than it looks from the outside. The menu is very typical of coastal Florida with the usual fried, grilled, or blackened options and combo platters, plus the usual non-seafood dishes like Chicken Parmesan. But the food was well prepared and tasty and they make an excellent Clam Chowder. I just wish these places would get a little more creative and add a few modern dishes to the menu. I enjoyed it but not really enough here to make me want to return.

George is a great guy and serves excellent quality seafood. I remember his old restaurant near the pier and he's done it again here. Our meals were delicious and superbly prepared. Even the veggies cooked just right. Casual atmosphere and staff will take care of you.
Highlight of visit: The Northern Combo has the best fried whole belly clams and shrimp.

The food here is fresh tasting and delicious. Their Red Snapper with linguini and garlic butter is an excellent dish and was cooked just right. The owner stopped by to check on us which was nice and had great service from all staff. Inside has a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere and they have good pricing for fresh seafood.

4 of us enjoyed a late lunch yesterday. We had not been here for several months and were very pleased. Portions are large and tasty and prices are reasonable for what you get. The side of pasta with butter/garlic was so large we had to take most of it home to enjoy again. Service was good and atmosphere is okay. If they had more than 1 window that overlooked the ocean we think the atmosphere would vastly improve.
Highlight of visit: Fried Seafood platter, Salmon with a cream sauce (special), Ahi Tuna. Shrimp Scampi was good but could have used another shrimp or two.

So impressed with this place. The coconut shrimp is the best I’ve ever had… so yummy. The owner was amazing! He noticed that my son ordered something he didn’t enjoy. He immediately came over and said… “let’s find something you like” Unbelievable customer service. You must try this place! BEST PLACE IN FLAGLER!

Very unassuming place from the outside but more cozy once inside. The staff are friendly but found service on the slow side. Calamari appetizer was good and tasted fresh and the Ahi Tuna entree was cooked and seasoned very well, but the linguini side was too oily and over cooked. Husband is not a seafood eater so had a steak which he enjoyed. Overall a good meal and we do recommend.

George is a great restaurateur who knows how to make you feel welcome and leave satisfied. Generous portions of superbly cooked fresh seafood every time. Flavor is spot on and not too heavily seasoned. Service is always professional and prices on par with the quality. We are regulars and in our opinion this is the best restaurant for seafood around.

We thought it was good but with mixed reviews from our table. Mostly we agreed our appetizers were cooked well and tasted good, but with entrees my fish which tasted like it was cold or slow fried... it needed to be crispier and golden brown and not have pale soft batter as I received. We also all thought the seasonings on all entrees was very mild and could of done with more flavor on each dish. The staff were very professional and friendly but atmosphere was not very lively with a very blue light special feel. Maybe we visited on an off night and I know many recommend this restaurant, so I will give it another try.

Our food was amazing but hey guys, it's time to take down the Christmas decorations!!! Combo Platter with Linguine in Garlic Butter was excellent. Girlfriend not a big seafood eater so had the Eggplant Parmesan and ate it all.
