The Funky Pelican offers the best beach views even with the construction going on and is our favorite place for breakfast. The crab cake benny is so good and my husband gets the shrimp and grits or the breakfast burrito. The servers are very efficient and keep our coffee filled up. We have been for breakfast many times but have yet to try for lunch or dinner.

Good place to people watch from sunbathers to pier construction workers, if they're your thing 😉 Fun outdoor bar to hang out with good drinks and food. I recommend the tequila and guava cocktail ğŸ¹and the mahi sandwich. To the people who manage this site, you need to update this photo as they have a new Funky Pelican sign that looks great.

The Funky Pelican never fails to satisfy! Great drinks and food and friendly service. Not to mention the location. The mojo fries are awesome and the mahi reuben is really good. This restaurant just screams Florida!

Came with a friend for an early breakfast and sat on the back deck. Construction noise had already begun but the view overrode it. Our server was excellent and kept our coffee cups filled. I had the pesto funk omelet and really liked it. Full of veggies and the pesto was tasty. The home fries were excellent. Not many customers, so we weren't rushed.

Some construction mess around the area but once on the back porch the views were still good even though there was a big crane. Service was slow on this occasion but our waitress was apologetic for the food delays. The Calamari starter wasn't that great but the Mojo burrito and Mahi Reuben were excellent. I also had a guava tequila cocktail that was delicious.

I was in the mood for tacos and the Funky Pelican did not disappoint! I had two each of the hot honey shrimp and the mahi tacos, and both were awesome! The queso dip was great as well and the floor is guava cocktail that went with it all so well. Service is a little slow but who cares when you have that view and a drink in hand!

Not as good as it used to be... I come here often and have noticed a decline lately... It's not all the construction around, although that has killed the buzz a little, but the food and service have lost their pizazz! This is an old building and it feels its age now and needs something to bring life back in... you still get a good view and that's the only real plus here at the moment.

Awsome restaurant for breakfast on a sunny morning. The views are perfect and the food is very good. The Hot Honey Chicken Biscuit or Breakfast Burritos are my faves. My wife liked their Coquito Pancakes. Their Bloody Mary's are worth it if you have nothing else to do all morning ğŸ¹

Too windy for the patio so we sat inside which isn't the same experience but at least the view was nice. Our server was fantastic and was very attentive. The Crab Hushpuppies starter were oily and hard, but Luau Salmon dish was very tasty. We split a piece of Sunshine Cake which was very good.

Went for breakfast and it was busy especially with bikers but it didn't affect the service or quality of food... our breakfasts were awesome and the Crab Cake Benny is a big hit! I'll skip the mimosas next time though.

Went last weekend and had a great experience... our server was awesome and the food was very tasty. The new holiday cocktails were amazing.... LOVED the MistletoeRita and Santa's Nightcap. The fish tacos were fantastic and hubs was impressed with his Chimichurri Surf and Turf. Vibes were great and view is always the best in Flagler Beach. I worry when the pier comes down that they won't remove the back deck.

I had a great time at the Funky Pelican! The weather was awesome, so we sat outside and the beach view was amazing. The Bacon Wrapped Shrimp were really tasty, and I loved the pineapple BBQ sauce that came with it. The Smoked Fish Dip? Meh, not my favorite, I’d skip that next time. The Calamari was good too, nice and crispy and not too much breading. The mixed drinks were on point! Service was super good, and our waitress was really nice and always checking on us. Would definitely go back!

The weather was lousy so we had to sit inside but view was still very cool. The peel and eat shrimp were fresh with good island type seasonings. The crab cake sandwich was decent, but not amazing. The beer selection was pretty basic, but my wife really liked her drink called The Floor is Guava and had too many so I had to cut her off LOL

We sat on the deck and the morning was beautiful with the ocean's colors mesmerizing, and they could have served me a 2x4 and I'd been happy. But I had breakfast tacos with veggies and scrambled eggs with a side of grits, which really hit the mark and went down so well. Great service too and although I arrived early it filled up fast. Surfers were out which is always great to watch but I do miss watching the pier action though.

We just had a great lunch here and had a Funky good time! The jambalaya is a must! And the Datil pepper cocktails was too good! Service was kind of slow but the view is awesome and was not in a rush.
Highlight of visit: Great jambalaya and cocktails.

We have only every been here for breakfast as we love the oceanside deck and the atmosphere, and what a view! Food is good and service efficient. I deducted half a star for the coffee which is not that great. No issues with our food though.

The view of the beach is beautiful and we always get excellent service. Some hits and misses on the menu and my actual favorite to have here is the strawberry and feta salad which goes down so well on a hot day.

Went to Funky for dinner tonight! Wife had the crab sandwich and I had the fish and chips and we were very happy with everything. Mixed drinks were good and the staff all very friendly. Sad to see the pier broken and closed but the view still cool.

In town for a long weekend and was recommended we stop in at the Funky Pelican. Service is very attentive and the atmosphere was a lot of fun. It's right on (or above) the beach and closest restaurant/bar we could find to the ocean. We all liked our food and I was very pleased with my Chimichurri Surf & Turf. Drinks were tasty and they have some funky cocktail creations that were fun to sample. We had a great few hours here and glad we stopped in.

Funky Pelican in Flagler Beach offers delightful seafood with a focus on breakfast favorites like the crab cake benedict, shrimp and grits, and breakfast burritos. The outdoor seating provides expansive beach views that many guests appreciate, making it a popular spot for sunrise dining and people watching. Signature dishes include mahi tacos, mojo fries, and the mahi reuben, often paired with guava tequila cocktails or creative holiday drinks. Service is generally attentive and friendly, though some guests have noted occasional slow moments. The menu features a mix of well-received items and a few less memorable starters, such as the calamari and crab hush puppies. While some feel the space could use a refresh, the combination of flavorful seafood, scenic views, and a relaxed vibe keeps visitors coming back.
