Review of Portugal Wine Bar & Grill by Christopher from Palm Coast
My wife and I tried this restaurant for the first time and had a very enjoyable dinner. The service is top notch and we went with our server's recommendations of the octopus and Portuguese steak, both very tasty and we liked the olives and bread they bring out. Wine was nice as well. The prices are on the high side and on par with fine dining rates.

We had the most wonderful waiter and service and the fish dish I ordered was delicious. The flambe chorizo appetizer is something you have to try and it's fun to watch table side. The flan for dessert was creamy and they make an excellent espresso. The only thing I didn't like was the atmosphere as I expected to be more elegant and was kind of loud and sports bar'ish with people yelling at the TVs and from the kitchen.

Customer service is attentive and prices very reasonable. The Portuguese Style Paella was very tasty and the Mixed Picadinho had good flavor but there was a few tough pieces of meat. The Calamari appetizer wasn't crispy as described. Wine very good. Table next to us had a fish dish that looked awesome and would like to try that next time.

To be honest I didn't like the atmosphere in here very much but our server was highly professional and the food was very good. The Fired Sardines appetizer was excellent with good dipping sauce. The Grilled Octopus was the most tender and flavor I've had and the roasted punch potatoes went so well with it. My wife had their Paella which was loaded with lobster, mussels, calamari, etc. and had a lot of flavor. Pitcher of sangria was delicious and complimented the food nicely. No room for dessert but coffee was good and fresh.

Food was mixed with some items tasting very good like the octopus but the veggies bland. Clams appetizer was delicious and the chorizo flambe is a good table side show. Wine was excellent! Staff are friendly and professional but atmosphere could do with a lift.

Food was outstanding and everything was so delicious. Service was professional and very high end. Atmosphere was lively but all the televisions ruined it for me and took away the authenticity. I'm not a well seasoned traveler but have been to Europe a few times and really miss the atmosphere of their family run bistros and cafes but sadly this isn't very close to one of those.

Had higher expectations than what I got here. Service was slow, food took a long time coming out, and it didn't taste as good as I hoped. Flavors were very mild and dish was oily. Could be friendlier - - seems like others were getting much better treatment than us!

Everything cooked perfectly and very fresh. Wait staff highly professional and personable. Paella was outstanding and tasted very authentic. Very good wine and beer selection. Don't know why we hadn't try this place sooner and cannot wait to return.
Highlight of visit: The Portuguese Style Paella for two was superb!

Food was really delicious and service top notch, but didn't like the atmosphere so much. Their cod fish and grilled sardines are so good and the clay tile octopus is worth the extravagance. Good wine too.
Highlight of visit: Grilled Sardines - hard to find on a Florida menu and cooked perfectly.

Lovely restaurant for a nice meal out. Food is delicious and service impeccable. The fried sardines appetizer was very tasty and rice and seafood stew was so good. Our server went the extra mile and we enjoyed his wine recommendation. I'm afraid that half a star rating was lost for the dessert which lacked flavor. Overall though a fabulous dining experience and we look forward to returning again.

Very classy place with first class food. All dishes were delicious although very rich, nicely presented and good sized portions. Server was very good and seemed to be proud of the restaurant. The Tripe Stew was something new for me and was a great introduction to traditional Portuguese food. Looking forward to returning to try more dishes here.

Food was delicious and tasted very fresh. Service professional but didn't care too much for the ambiance... could be more cozy Mediterranean and less bar /diner with TVs. The menu had many enticing items but I opted for a Mixed dish with pork, chicken, seafood and sausage cooked in red wine sauce which excellent. My wife had the shrimp and linguini and found it to be very good but similar to Italian that she can get in most other places. Overall we thought it was a very good meal with great service but just disappointed with the atmosphere.
We also heard it was up for sale so hope the new owners keep the food the same and make the decor improvements... that would really make this an excellent restaurant.
