The first time we went it was good food. This time, last night, it wasn't so. I ordered the veal panatella? The veal tasted like it wasn't fresh veal. It tasted like it was pre-made. It was then fried and the oil left a terrible after taste. As a matter of fact I wasn't feeling so good for the rest of the evening. My husband had the lasagna. He said it was good. He liked it. We had carrot cake, but doubt it was homemade. It tasted just like Publix. We also liked it. The waitress was very good. I don't think we'll be returning soon.

Eleven of us took a trip to the Tuscan Grille for my mother's 70th birthday. The place was packed out the door with no empty tables and I thought maybe they had forgotten about our reservation. I was wrong: they took us to a huge table in a lovely spacious room. Our server came over promptly and greeted us. A few cute small children (I'm assuming part of the owner's family) brought us some fresh bread and oil plates. We ordered a few appetizers and our dinner at the same time. The fried calamari was great! The salads came out next and were lush and rich and when we got our entrees, we were in awe. The portions were massive! I ordered the calamari fridavlo (extra spicy) with linguini. The calamari was perfect, not rubbery nor fishy at all. You could tell it was freshly made. All of us needed boxes for our food. Afterwards, we had dessert: they brought a complementary cannoli and sang happy birthday to my mother. She was smiling and laughing. I ordered some carrot cake and it was the best I've ever had. Thank you to the Tuscan Grille for making my mom's birthday great! We'll be back for many birthdays to come!

First let me preface by saying I am one of the hardest critics when it comes to eating Italian food out. Mama Mia! I've been disappointed 95% of the time whenever I try a new place in the area that boasts being "authentic Italian cuisine" or "just like mama's". It's gotten that I rather cook Italian in than go out, just like my grandmother. So, I was pleasantly surprised and completely satisfied with my dining experience at Tuscan Grill. The first test I give an Italian restaurant is on the grated cheese. Immediately after being seated I zoomed in on the cheese which was in a round shaped jar on our table. I picked it up, turned it over, and shook some out into the palm of my hand. The aroma was delightful and like a common Chameleon aiming at an unsuspecting target, I coated the tip of my tongue with the cheese. I got this warm and fuzzy feeling all over because I knew I was eating genuine Romano. In response to the other diner's remark about the parmesan cheese being in a jar, this is okay with me because initially the owner's grate the cheese from a Romano wheel and distribute it to the tables. Besides, with the cheese at my disposal, I can top off my meal with the exact amount instead of repeating to the server, "More, more, come on, keep it coming."
As for our meals, the presentation was something to boast about and the food was cooked to perfection. I had the pesto and chicken ravioli that was to die for and my husband had grilled chicken breast with grilled vegetables that surpassed his or my expectations. Our server (who happened to be one of the partners) was just a joy. To top it off the menu prices are reasonable.
I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who knows good Italian food or who can still remember what it is supposed to taste like. Keep in mind, if you are a large party or you are going at a busy time, you may have to wait a while to be seated because mostly every entre is cooked to order. Be prepared and don't make a fuss about it. How many of you really have someplace else to go anyway?
I say relax, enjoy a piece of toasted Italian bread with a glass of wine at the bar while you wait (and, remember to have a designated driver if you do this).
If you are one of those diners who need to be seated and eat almost immediately, then you may want to be there when they open their doors. But, that too may change if they continue to get great reviews.
I say, keep up the good work Tuscan Grill.

Having dined at the Tuscan Grille with guests on three different occasions, I recommend this restaurant on all fronts. I made reservations several days in advance as we had been warned the restaurant is very popular. Each time we were seated within a very short wait. We have thoroughly enjoyed our experience there. The staff is friendly and helpful. The food is well prepared, delicious and very reasonable. I was surprised to read some negative reviews when most are positive. On reviewer suggested family members may have written the positive ones. On the other hand, is it possible that competitors posted some of the negative ones? As already mentioned, parking is a problem, However, we just found that there is additional parking on the comer of the block north of the restaurant.

A 5 pm reservation, seated and orders taken. Salads not served until after 6 pm, dinner did not appear until 6:45 pm. Side dishes brought to table half way through the meal. Table was not cleared between courses so not enough room on table. Very noisy, small room unpleasant environment, messy table. Veal Marsala good but not great for price. A happy group planning to celebrate a wedding the next day brought down by this poor choice in a restaurant. Why was a child refilling water glasses? Had it not been a special occasion we would have left. A sorry does not undo a bad experience.

We just finished eating the first time at Tuscan Grille. This was not a good experience for us. We made a reservation for 7:15 pm. When we arrived, there were others waiting for tables who did not have a reservation. They were seated ahead of us. Not sure the reservation had any real meaning. Once seated, we waited 30 minutes before any bread, etc was brought, even though we had ordered our food. We noticed that a table behind us was served bread BEFORE us, even though they arrived at the restaurant 30 minutes after us.... they had not even been seated at their table, and bread was brought, while WE were still waiting. We ordered appetizers that were brought after our salads. The main courses were average quality. This was a blue collar restaurant, and not one that we will recommend to any of our friends or guests visiting the area. St. Augustine has many more Italian restaurants of much better quality and service.

Our experience at this restaurant was disappointing. The food was not at all as good as the hype led us to believe. After eating two rather expensive pasta dishes, we are not convinced that the pasta is "homemade" as advertised. The parmesan is in a jar on the table; we were surprised that fresh grated was not the standard. The bread, soup, and salad were not up to our expectations of a true, fine Italian restaurant.

We are vacationing in Palm Coast and this is the 2nd time in 3 weeks we dined at The Tuscan Grille. We had reservations and were greeted, made to feel welcomed and seated at the time requested. The meals were explained in detail and presented by a fantastic waitstaff. You can tell that each meal had been prepared for each individual and not prepared prior. We had 4 very different meals and all agreed that each was FANTASTIC. All meals and drinks are very plentiful and resonable. Michael and his staff really go all out to make everyone feel welcomed and the have a GREAT dining experience. This is the BEST Italian restaurant south of the North-End in Boston.

Excellent home style dinners. I felt like I were in my grandmothers kitchen. I wish they had a larger restaurant so that it could serve larger groups.

An authentic Italian restaurant - great food - good wine - best service and top it off, good music. We were lucky, we had reservations - the place was packed - waited a little over our scheduled time - but thank goodness we waited - no place on the beach and beyond can you find such excellent tasting true tasting Italian food that is cooked to perfection. Be sure to make a reservation as a wait can be very long - Finally - Italy came to Flagler Beach!

When we First heard an Itailian Restaurant was going to open in Place of the Old "Chicken by the Sea", wich was a Disaster!, We gave them a Few Months and Would have Bet Anyone they Would be Closed! Every other Corner in Flagler Beach Claims to be an Italian Restuarant/Pizza Shop. For Those of You that Appreciate Real Old School Italian Cooking, The Tuscan Grille is the Real Deal!!! The place was Packed our First Time There, But they Still Greeted us as Soon as we Entered and We did have to Wait to be Seated. The Staff were Very Polite and Those Guests Leaving Did Nothing but Compliment their Dinning Experience to Us and Insisted the Food was Well Worth the Wait. After being Seated and Looking over the Menu, We Found it to have a Variety of Entrees Not Typical of the Local Fare in Town! We Received the Complimentary Fresh Toasted Italian Bread and Olive Oil Seasoned Dip.We Ordered the Soup of the day, wich was Pasta e Fagioli and "FANTASTIC" !! We asked for Extra Tomatoes on Our salads and was not a Problem or a Charge. I Chose the Chicken Panzanella with a Side of Fettuccine and Galic Butter. My Friend Ordered the Italian Trio, wich was a Combo of Eggplant Rollatini/Stuffed Shells and Lasagna. The Food was Great, the portions were Huge, and the Staff makes You Feel like Family! You Wont be Able to Resist Ordering Dessert When that Tray of Cannolli Cheescake, Cocconut Cake, Toasted Almond CreamCake, and the others i cant remember comes to your table! We would Highly recommend the Tucan Grille to Anyone that Enjoys Great Food,Huge Portions at a Very Reasonable Price. The Quality of their Food Speaks for Itself. Try to Save Room For Dessert, You Will be glad Ya Did!!!!!

We had our first experience at the Tuscan Grille sitting in the little room in the back, although the food was good the noise level after a party of 6 sat down was terrible. We decided to give it another try and called for reservations requesting to be seated in the main dining area. Not 5 minutes after our wine and appetizers were served our dinner came out which we sent back as we had not finished our appetizer. When our dinner was brought out it was cold so we sent it back. The owner brought it out after it had been heated with an atitude making it seem like it was our fault it was cold because we sent it back, not the waitress's fault for serving it too soon.
Service is part of the dining experience and if I wanted fast food I would go to McDonalds. Won't be going back, there are to many restaurants in the area with food just as good if not better.

Went thee last Tuesday with out of town guests. It was absolutely wonderful. I had the lasagna, my cousin had the eggplant parm and my husband had the chicken dish and someone else had veal parm. We were all very satisified with our food. I had the lentil soup which was probably the best I ever had. Next time I am going to try the bean soup because they didn't have it that day but when I was there before everyone loved it. Our server was Colleen and she was great.
One of my neighbors had a 70th birthday party about 10 days ago and there were 17 of us ladies and not one complaint. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the service was wonderful.
It sure is about the best Italian food around.

The place is really nice on the inside and we were anxious to try out this food! First off we had to ask for clean flatware. There was something stuck between the tines of the fork I had. The server seemed worried that her boss would hear and tucked it into her pocket and quickly brought me a new one. The chicken dish I had was covered in deep sauce. I have a feeling it was to try to mask the fact that the chicken had been prepared some time prior to the order being placed. It was touch on the edges and dry. The bread was about the same as any other "family" Italian restaurant. Not good or bad, just bread. The tea that I was assured was fresh tasted old and dirty. I asked for a soft drink instead. I felt bad for our server as she kept looking at who I can only imagine was a manager like she was worried about something.
The food was not the bottom of the barrel but sure not worth what we paid for it. What wasn't worth it was the wait. Luckily we were with our boss so she knew why we were away from the office for almost 2 hours. The quality of the food did not make this type of wait understandable. I'll just go some place else next time.

We had dinner here for the second time on 2/11/12. We had reservations and were seated promptly. The owner greets you at the door and is very friendly. There were 5 of us in our party and everyone's meal was delicious. I like that they don't rush you through your meal, you have plenty of time to talk and enjoy. If you want to eat before 8:00pm, make sure you make reservations a few days ahead. If you walk in without them, you will wait up to 45 minutes for a table, that's how good the food is! We will most certainly go back.

Saw the reviews for this place on here and thought we'd give it a try. I guess we got there just in time as soon after being seated it started to fill up. I remember this building from when it was he driving license place and it's certainly changed since then! It's kind of plain and dull on the outside but it's nice and welcoming once inside. Our server was friendly and helpful and the food was very good and tasty. Portions are generous and prices very fair. We are glad we found this place and will return.

The food is excellent and the surroundings are in good taste, but there was one very big problem that I think will hurt this restaurant. The owner (male) has a big attitude problem. We were not served for a hour and a half and instead of simply checking on our meals, we had to be scolded for even asking. We watched everyone around us come in and be served in a timely manner, but we were told that to get good food at his place expect to wait 1-1/2 hours. I don't believe you could make a turn over of customers if everyone had to wait that long. My suggestion is be a little kinder to your customers if you want them coming back and spreading the good words about the restaurant and not the bad ones.
