This place is the best place in Bunnell to eat breakfast or lunch. The staff is great and the owner is also the star of it all.

Highlight of visit: The Shrimp and Clams on Friday is the best around. I love the Patty Melt with fries.

This place will fill you up cheap! Great family run business with friendly folks and good homestyle cooking. Only been for breakfast and each time was very satisfying.

We've only been there for breakfast several times, but every time was wonderful! Excellent food at a great price. Service was as good as it gets, and the atmosphere is very homey. Sure, it's not fancy, but it's clean and well maintained. Good old fashioned food served hot and fresh. The portion sizes are better than average. Overall a excellent dining experience.

Worst restaurant experience ever! Showed up at 10:45am and was told breakfast was no longer being served although it states on the menu that breakfast doesn't end until 11am. We were given 2 options: wait until 11 o'clock and then order or we could get a breakfast sandwich or a hamburger because apparently those are the only 2 things served all day. I wanted to leave but the people I was with wanted to stay and give it a shot. So I settled for a lunch special, they apparently ran out of one of the sides I ordered so they took it upon themselves to replace it with another board side, which I did not like. My friend ordered a burger and fries. The fries were way over cooked and the burger was under cooked. She told the waitress she wanted her burger cooked all the way and the waitress told her that's the only way they cook them, well her burger was pink in the middle. She pointed it out to our waitress and she refused to take the burger or make another one. So the burger nor the fries were eaten and my friend was still charged full price.

My sister ordered a chef salad, while everything did seem fresh on the salad, the portions were ridiculously small. The sweet tea had a nasty almost smoke like flavor to it so I switched it for a diet Pepsi and I was still charged for the tea and the diet Pepsi. When we left to check out our bill was higher than expected. I questioned our server about the price and she listed off these hidden fees that we were not aware of. We were charged extra because we used our debit cards to pay, we were charged extra because we asked for Styrofoam to go cups, and we were charged extra because we asked for a to go container to feed the leftovers to the dog. The woman who checked us out was also our server and she was extremely rude and completely unprofessional. She argued with me about our total and told us we didn't have to come back. I asked a customer who was in the parking lot if they come here often and if so, is the service, food and extra charges always like this? He told me yes. He also pointed out that our server was actually "Pat" who is also the owner of this poorly put together establishment. Absolutely absurd that an owner of a business would be so nasty towards paying customers. I will never go back and I will make sure everyone I know is well aware of my terrible experience.

Just had the worst lunch served to us. We took one bite and were afraid to eat the rest. We asked for our check and told the woman our food did not taste right and she charged us full price. She never even apologized just shrugged her shoulders and made a funny face like we were crazy. If she had made an attempt by adjusting our check we would have given the place another try. Now not only will I not go back again but I will make sure everyone knows about my bad experience.

Bomb, great great. I don't know what the last guy is talking about with overpriced. You can order the rod and gun, one of their biggest breakfast orders. 3 eggs a biscuit with gravy, meat, and choice of grits, or potato. for about 6.50 I think. The grits are perfect consistency by the way, and the smoked sausage is out of this world. The gravy could be better though, it is definitely out of the can. But I can let that slide. The good outweighs the gravy by far. And the owners are very nice also.

My husband and I eat at the Red Gator Cafe regularly. We have known the owners since they purchased the place many years ago. It is a family run restaurant and known to be the cleanest place in Flagler County! They always strive to please and take good care of their customers - especially us regulars! They have the best hamburger around - made from fresh ground beef and if you are looking for a large burger, the Jimmy Crews fits the bill. Shrimp and clam day on Fridays is a favorite. Good fresh shrimp, lightly breaded and fried. Good place to go - try it!

I stopped in a gas station in Bunnell and ask where a good place to eat was and they sent me to a small mom and pop place called the Red Gator Cafe, just a place I was looking for. It brings me back to the places I used to visit with friends. Good home cooked meals, excellent price, and nice people. will be back

Super nice family restaurant. Pat is quick with the ice tea, portions are generous, my 18 year son loves it as it's and easy place to fill him UP. Lunches are top of the list for fast food at a reasonable price.,As a civilian contractor working with our troops in Iraq, my wife and I head straight to Red Gators Cafe soon as I get off the plane in Daytona every time I return home.

Food was good and service was awesome. Restaurant was clean. Price was high for breakfast. 2 breakfast with tea was $18.00. I would go back but would watch the prices next time. It is a good family owned restaurant. Good place to sit and enjoy just being you.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE breakfast at the Red Gator! Ham & Cheese omelets can't be beat. Dining there is like dining with family. As soon as I sit down Pat will appear with a sweet tea with lemon or if it's early morning coffee and water. Food is great, place is clean and your friends are usually there!

Today was the 5th time we've gone to the Red Gator. Everyone there is nice, professional and very friendly. The food is really good. The best Hamburger besides my own. Breakfast is fast and HOT!! Everything they serve has been delicious. Had a stuffed tomato with chicken salad-- the freshest, best-tasting chicken salad I've ever had. Go and expect good, old-fashioned food. It's not fine dining, but the service is great and the food is terrific.

It is difficult to believe that this restaurant remains open. Owner's are rude. This restaurant has to be the most unfriendly restaurant in Flagler County. We will NEVER go back.

I was recommended to eat lunch at the Red Gator Cafe by friends of mine. The Cafe was very clean and the service was good. We ordered two of the lunch specials and for the price, the food was great. We got to talk to the owner and found out it is a truly family business. The Cafe was very busy but our wait was not long. A good value, good food, and a good place to try.

Went here for lunch... not too bad but the owners have forgotten to be grateful that they have customers. The food is average, which is not a bad thing but remember to be kind and it will be reciprocated. Inside is average and clean (clean is very good). The prices are fair for what you receive.
