Island Flavaz PERMANENTLY CLOSED

Drove down here as we saw their ad and we love Jamaican food. The restaurant is small yet decorated with the flag's colors and has good views. Our order was slow coming out but was worth the wait... everything was packed with flavor from the mutton soup to the oxtail and all the sides. I got an order of jerk pork that tasted so good the next day. I think they only had one chef in the kitchen so he was struggling to keep up but I would wait again for food like this.

While searching for somewhere to eat lunch everywhere along the beach was busy but this restaurant was empty which made us cautious, but we took a gamble anyway and so glad we did. The staff is really welcoming and the restaurant is bright and colorful and we had a lovely seat at the front with a view of the ocean. The server guided us through the menu and we went with her advice of Jerk Chicken and Beef Oxtail. Both came with Rice and Peas and Plantains and we had an extra side of Yucca. Everything arrived looking freshly made and tasted wonderful. The flavors were strong but in balance and the sides were nice equalizers to the spices. We are happy that we found this little place by the sea and will be back.

Good clean, welcoming and authentic Jamaican restaurant with friendly staff and nice views. I had the Curry Goat Rotti meal which was meaty and very tasty. Save room for the Potato Pudding which is something different and a great dessert.

This is a relatively small but colorful cafe right on A1A so the location is good for views. I've ordered from here 3 or 4 times now and the food has always had great flavor and plenty of it. The oxtail is highly recommended as is the brown stew and the sides are very good too. I drive here from F area of Palm Coast and it's well worth it.

This was an overall good experience and I liked their food very much. The staff is welcoming and assisted with deciding what to order. The inside is colorfully painted in Jamaican flag colors and I sat at a table in the front which has nice views of the beach and ocean. The food offers a different flavor to Flagler Beach and makes a nice change to the usual things on offer elsewhere. The meat in the dish I had was very tender and the gravy was very delicious. Even the rice is seasoned nicely and they also have some very good Jamaican soda. I think this will be a regular place for me as I want to try more of their dishes.

Freaking awesome honey jerk chicken wings! Worth visiting just for those but everything here I've tried has been good. Cool vibes inside with Jamaican theme everywhere and friendly staff. I like this place a lot.

Nice friendly restaurant with great people and tasty food. Both the Jerk Chicken and the Oxtail were delicious and tasted as good as I had in Jamaica. Their rice and plantains are wonderful and the Jamaican beer compliments the food well. It's also right across from the ocean so you get a lovely view.

First time trying Jamaican food and it was pretty good. Server recommended me the brown chicken stew and it was very tasty. I also liked the orange Jamaican soda too. Don't know if it's authentic here or not but it had a good island type taste and I would try again.

This is some very tasty island food with island hospitality too. Simple but clean and brightly colored inside, staff very warm and food was full of flavor. The oxtail is fork tender and so tasty. All the side are delicious and I ordered extra plantains to take home. I definitely recommend for anyone looking for an authentic taste of the islands.

Oxtail and pork were both very tender and had very flavor and spice. Cabbage and the rice were tasty and liked the Jamaican soda. Staff nice and good views. I would definitely come back for more.

The food is so amazing. so far I tried four different dishes, and I love each one of them. Definitely a place you’ll must try if you like food with Excellent flavor

Right on the beach - great views. Walked in to a warm dining area. Run off window A/C units. Young girl works the cashier, not friendly or smiling. Specials on board not all available. Ordered curry goat to go, opened box to find curry chicken. Curry is bland. Sad. Also large portions are not worth the price. Rice is extremely dry. First and last time. All for supporting local and island flavors but the lack of customers makes sense after our experience. Sorry.

Stew had such wonderful flavors and meat was fall of the bone tender. All sides were tasty too and customer service gracious. Good location with sunny island decor and views of ocean.

Nice people and explained the dishes. I ordered the curried goat with gungo rice and peas and it was a really delicious meal. This was a different experience for me and I really enjoyed it... will go back to try more.

Great place, great food, and service! Will return, and bring friends . Love this type of food. Great views of the beach from inside or outside the restaurant. Sit watch the waves, chill and have something to eat.

I'm no hot food fanatic but their spicy jerk chicken is really mild so don't be put off, although its flavors are good. The food all looked good and rice and sides tasty. It's a very colorful restaurant and you get great ocean views. Staff warm and friendly and reasonable prices.

Best oxtail stew I've had! Flavors were really good. Plantains tasty and rotti good too. Laid back place with good service and location.

Great food and service. Love the patties! Great ocean view. Varied menu. Be ready to wait on the whole fish, cooked fresh on ordering. Worth the wait.

Though we would try it here for breakfast on Saturday but was disappointed. The food was actually quite good and my omelette was tasty and the Blue Mountain Coffee was excellent, but we stopped here in hope of something different for breakfast and maybe more Caribbean style, but it was just your very basic and limited offerings found almost anywhere. However, the Jamaican food being cooked for later smelled amazing so will definitely return another time to try some of that.
