Review by Miguel, Palm Coast 10/2/20264.0Food:Service:Atmosphere:
Our server was very friendly and the atmosphere and decor are very cool, but the chairs are awful - very uncomfortable! I got the special Nashville hot chicken sandwich which was excellent - topped with bleu cheese and a good slaw - would have preferred fries instead of chips - which weren't great. Bar drinks were good but my friend's beer was warm.

My first visit and I thought the location was awesome and the restaurant very cool inside. I sat at the bar and had great service from the bartender who was friendly and helpful. The food was pretty good but I think it was overpriced for what it was.

They have a cool airport location and we liked the atmosphere, and the service was very good. We sat at the bar and the drinks were excellent. My wife had an Asian salad which she really liked, and I went with a shrimp pasta dish, which was OK but on the salty side and the sauce tasted as if it came out of a jar. It's a good place to relax in a cool atmosphere with good drinks when you're not in the mood to cook.

Review by James, Palm Coast 4/12/20264.0Food:Service:Atmosphere:
So, we thought the decor and design were very cool and on par with a vintage airport theme, but it was very flat and lacked atmosphere. Even the server had no personality and although did a good job at serving, didn't exactly make us feel welcome or enthusiastic about what we were ordering. That said, the food was good. Nothing gourmet but great pub grub of mostly handhelds and we did have a couple of good cocktails, but make sure you get a premium bourbon if ordering an Old Fashioned.

I've visited here a few times and had some good sandwiches and wraps, but the dog burger special I had today was a disaster. I knew from the name it was a mistake to order it! Very messy to eat, unappealing, and just way too much. Didn't even eat half until I gave up!

Review by Brandon, Palm Coast 2/12/20263.5.0Food:Service:Atmosphere:
The new remodleing is nice but we found the seating uncomfortable and the metal chairs are not good for the cold weather. The server was not the best, very slow and dull. The food was mixed, the BBQ sandwich was very good but the fish dip was a fail and tasted like cat food. The clam chowder was good. My friend was disappointed with her wrap, which fell apart as the tortilla was too dry. I guess you need to know what is good and what's not here.

I thought it was good here. The decor is very cool and the lady serving was very nice, and I took her recommendation of the cowboy burger which was loaded and a challenge to finish. The fries were good too and if this wasn't a work lunch, the cocktails looked tempting. It's very hidden from the road and you have to in the airport entrance to find it.

Review by Jason, Palm Coast 9/22/20253.0Food:Service:Atmosphere:
First time here since it was Highjackers and it's not so good. It does have an upgraded interior but it's lost the personality it had before, and it's also very echoey making it hard to converse. The food was ok but nothing outstanding or memorable. The mixed drinks weren't that great either. The staff were good though. I would visit again but more of a place with friends for beers and burgers.

Review by Joan, Palm Coast 9/9/20253.0Food:Service:Atmosphere:
We thought the atmosphere was very good and the service was friendly and efficient. However, the food was about average. The Chicken Marsala was bland, its sauce was thin and did not taste of marsala at all, but the chicken was tender and the mashed potatoes were good. My friend had the Blackened Salmon and said is was dry and over cooked. I would come here again but would probably stick with a simpler item like a burger or a wrap.

Review by Adam, Palm Coast 8/12/20255.0Food:Service:Atmosphere:
Came for lunch yesterday (on a Sunday) and we had a great experience. We shared the ahi tuna appetizer which the best ginger wasabi dressing, and I had the Cuban panini which was huge and tasted awesome! My wife went with the Thai chili shrimp wrap and thought it was unique and delicious. The new renovations are very nice and created a cool atmosphere, and the outside area with the kids playground was full of people having fun.

Review by Justin, Palm Coast 7/4/20252.5.0Food:Service:Atmosphere:
Food was about average. The shrimp tasted like and had the texture of being frozen. The beer cheese soup was too cold so goopy. I don't like goopy soupy 🥴 The Ahi tacos sounded and looked much better than they were, which was quite tasteless. The server was dull and needed fire up his a$$. Great spot next to the airport though and the new updates are an improvement. Glad I got to try it but so many other choices in Palm Coast.

Review by Howard, Port Orange 6/3/20255.0Food:Service:Atmosphere:
Very nice remodel, good food & good service. I just wish that a former Highjackers employee would drop off the Black Beans & Rice that I used to get at Highjackers. 😁
Highlight of visit: Everyone was very nice, professional and courteous.

Review by Lainey, Palm Coast 5/29/20253.0Food:Service:Atmosphere:
I know this place can do better and maybe the cooks are still trying to find their groove. Nachos were a plane crash! My sandwich a sloppy mess! My husband liked his haddock and chips but didn’t think they were worth $22! They did have a good crowd in there and the new layout is nice but the food needs improving and prices to quality ration is way off.

Review by Jennice, Palm Coast 5/20/20254.0Food:Service:Atmosphere:
Stopped in with a friend bites and drinks and had great service and our sandwiches were very good, but they need a new bar person here! Our drinks were bad! They really destroyed my friend’s margarita and don’t ask for a cosmo! The new updates are a big improvement and the kid’s play area by the runway looked fun.

Review by Tony, Palm Coast 5/13/20254.0Food:Service:Atmosphere:
The upgrades are nice and I especially like the new bar but it’s quite loud. The food is about the same as before. Wings and shrimp were good but fries were not so great. The service was slow but I guess they’re still working out the kinks.

Review by Stephan, Palm Coast 5/6/20253.0Food:Service:Atmosphere:
I like the location and sitting outside watching the airport activity is very cool, but the service and food need improvement. Staff were friendly, but they let us stand around for a table even though there were many available and the service was slow. The food was about average and lacked flavor. Bottled beer was warm! I adit they did a nice job updating this restaurant but they need more work on the food and service. I'll give them more time until I return.

The Landing Strip Tavern in Bunnell offers a vintage airport-themed setting with a relaxed, casual vibe. Customers often praise the friendly and attentive service, especially at the bar where cocktails and beer pair well with pub-style dishes. Popular menu items include the Nashville hot chicken sandwich, cowboy burger, BBQ sandwich, and beer cheese soup, though some find certain dishes inconsistent or overly salty. Drinks are generally well-made but can vary depending on the bartender. The seating, especially the metal chairs, is frequently described as uncomfortable, and the space can echo, affecting conversation. While the atmosphere is appreciated for its unique decor, the food leans toward straightforward pub fare rather than gourmet. Overall, the tavern suits those looking for laid-back dining with solid drinks in a distinctive setting.
