Golden Corral PERMANENTLY CLOSED

I didn't like it here much. The seating area was crowded and cluttered and the service sparse. Food was not great and left a lot to be desired. Flavors were strange and quality seemed poor. Steak was awful! Deserts tasted like chemicals. Not worth the money.

We have been going to this Golden Corral mainly for breakfast and have found it to be adequate. However since they advertised what sounded like a fabulous spread for Easter we decided to go there for dinner. Bad mistake. As I'm disabled and cannot walk or stand too much I usually walk in and try and find a table while my husband stands in line and pays. We have been doing this since the restaurant opened. Anyway the tables that were empty were not cleaned off in a timely manner while customers waited in line. The ones that were cleaned, I had to clean off a chair before I sat down. I sat there until a table in front of me opened that had 3 chairs. Since I was sitting at a 4 chair table I thought I would sit at the 3 seat table. At this point a manager came over and asked if I was waiting for someone and I replied that my husband was in line to pay and she told me that I couldn't sit at the table as it was against their policy.

Being handicapped I don't like to get into confrontational situations and was embarrassed in front of the other diners. She said that they had chairs up front but I told her that there were kids sitting in those chairs. I also told her that I had been doing this since the restaurant opened and never had a problem. Who wants to go to a restaurant and be embarrassed? Anyway we won't be back. Poorly managed, food not as good as other Golden Corrals. Stay away especially if you are handicapped!

Very affordable and great food. I am very glad to travel to Palm Coast to just sit eat and catch up with my friends. When we go on outings.

Different strokes for different folks. I know that I can go in Golden Coral and I have a lot to choose from. Most of the time everything I choose is wonderful. The only complaint I have is the sweet potato casserole with marshmallows. I don't like marshmallows, so I didn't get it. Makes sense to eat what you like and stay away from the foods you don't.

I have NEVER seen wilted lettuce on the salad bar and doubt I ever will. If you don't like buffets to begin with, then don't go to Golden Coral, If you don't like loud atmosphere, then don't go to Golden Coral OR Cracker Barrel. Some places are just loud. Even Wal-Mart! :-) I have two teenage boys and we definitely get our monies worth when we go. The staff has ALWAYS been polite and very attentive. If you have problems with them, look around and see how busy they are, they do the best they can under the circumstances. Thank you Golden Coral for coming to Palm Coast and I will see you very soon.

Lots of food of average quality. Nothing outstanding but a few reasonable items. Not keen on the seating areas though! It feels confined and chaotic. Service was good on one visit and not so good on second.

We are regular customers of the Golden Corral and have had very few, if any , complaints on the service or food. Rarely do we find items that are not appealing. They try very hard to please everyone. We think from counting the cars in their parking lot and comparing the count to other places, it speaks for itself. Great place to dine!

This is a great buffet. When I'm in charge of the kids there is absolutely no place I'd rather go than here. We don't have to wait for food and every one of them gets something they like. And I, frankly, eat until I can barely walk. I can't speak for all of them, but every waitress we've ever had was first rate. For the price you just can't find anything better than this place.

I have three kids and on a tight budget and we're always looking for inexpensive places to eat, so we went to Golden Corral one evening. The kids aren't very fussy eaters but had trouble finding something good to eat here. We all found the food to be very mediocre and lacked flavor. Some items had odd textures and the steak was full of gristle and fat. I don't think cheap and plentiful is necessarily better!

Went to the Golden Coral last night even though I have sworn off the place the last time I went. I confess I had a coupon so I thought Id go with wife. We usually go to a rival in South Daytona where the food is much better. Once again the food was only so-so and the endless shrimp campaign did not include raw shrimp which is what I like. The steak was not great and line long. This time I swear I will NEVER be back

My wife and I dine here when we are in Florida for the winter. This is reasonable food at a reasonable price and plenty of it. They have a wide variety of items at a good price. Service is OK but I can't see how they stay in business? Every time I go I see several people just walking around the young cashier and wander in somewhere and sit down. Then after a few seconds just get up get a plate and help themselves to a dinner. i time I watched as a family of six did this, the wife wandered in, a few seconds later then the husband , while 4 kids hanged back for a few seconds and then they just walked in (he exit lane). If they stopped this they would make 25% more profit. As a businessman I was really appalled at this blatantly disregard of stealing.

Not an enjoyable experience. Mass amounts of low quality food. Floor sticky. Buffet bar messy. Staff at counters loud and socializing. Plastic plates. Felt like I was back at school and waiting for a food fight to start. Our server was good though.

Great place to eat. Dinner time can get hectic, but worth it. Been there twice and had very friendly servers Kelly and Taylor

Gee, I'm sorry Wren is so upset in the previous review. I guess he or she is the only one entitled to an opinion. I'm surprised you let this one through. This place is a rather typical buffet. It's big and noisy. Don't waste your time waiting for a steak. They leave a lot to be desired. The ribs (dinner only) are good and I found some pot roast that was great! The veggies, potatoes and salad are spotty; some good, some not so good. Forget the dessert. Some of the help is pleasant and some aren't, and I was really disappointed to see a manager standing around just watching people cut in line in front of kids and elderly folks. If you're big on quantity and don't mind so so food, this is the place for you.

We just through with a late Sunday lunch our way back to south Florida. The wait was about 5 min. Food was great and the ribs were cooked perfectly and falling off the bone. Great pulled pork.

I've been avoiding this place as I really don't like buffets, but there are always a lot of cars outside so I thought maybe they must be doing something right. So my wife and I went in for dinner early on Friday. We paid and then spent 5 minutes walking around looking for a clean table. We found one and it felt like we were some noisy school cafeteria! The food confirmed why I dislike buffets. It was a mess up there and nothing we had tasted even half good. Staff around the buffet areas were extremely vocal and at the salad bar I thought I was at football game! This is not my idea of good food, or even reasonable cheap food, it doesn't taste good, the presentation is bad, and the staff obnoxious. Never ever again!!!

We visited for early dinner today. At first we couldn't find anywhere to sit but found a section over the back that was cleaner and quieter than the main dining areas. The buffet was well stocked but I was disappointed with most of the items. I had some chicken that was good but some of the meat items were almost inedible. The steak was 95% gristle and was a waste of time lining up for. Deserts had a chemical taste to them and were very very sweet. Overall, although there was a lot of food not much of it was any good. Our server was fantastic and she kept empty plates cleaned away and was on top of the drinks. However, some of the staff at the buffet were very loud and shouting at each other. I prefer dining in a more peaceful environment and would rather have one high quality entree than a selection of low quality ones.

This review is for weekend breakfast only. Got there just as it opened and everything was neat and fresh. Server was very nice. Tables and dining area clean. I was impressed with the selection and it all tasted very good. No real fault of Golden Corral, but not long after opening it got busy and customers soon had the buffet dirty and items mixed up. That's one the reasons I don't like buffets.

Golden Coral has good food for the money. They have recently added ribs to their menu and they are really good. The night that we went, there were several families with young children (Under 4) who were allowed to run around screaming for better part of 30 minutes before the managment said something. One of the children ran into an elderly lady with a walker and if my son had not been standing beside her and steadied her, she would have been knocked over. This should not have gone on for the length of time that it did. Other than the wild children everything else was satisfactory.

This is reasonable food at a reasonable price and plenty of it. You can feed the family up very well here with a wide variety of items at a good price. Service is OK and sometimes the "clean" plates are dirty, but I think it's excellent value.

Golden Corral is what it is, an inexpensive buffet of reasonable food and plenty of it. They do a good job at providing a variety and although it is far from gourmet, it does have a few good selections. The servers do a good job at keeping the tables cleared but I do wish it was kept a little cleaner.
