My brother enjoyed the fried livers and my wife, my mother and myself enjoyed the fried chicken. It was all excellent and prepared to perfection. Very Moist and flavorful. The sides were also very good. The wait staff was excellent and the two ladies working the tables, smiled which makes a difference and they get bonus points. The atmosphere was great for the for a small town dinner / restaurant. I always make a point to visit the Chicken Pantry on visits to Palm Coast. I think that I will recommend the Chicken Pantry in Bunnell, Florida to the Food Network for a visit by the host of "Drive Inn's, Diners and Drive - Guy Ferieri (sp) to visit this restaurant to enjoy such an Epicurean Delight with such fine down home cooking. .

Best fried chicken, pork chops, pork shoulder in Flagler County. Choice of 17 sides with any dinner. Great breakfast, lunch, and dinners with daily lunch specials. Great deserts as well. I've been visiting the place for over 10 years thru multiple owners and the food always remains wonderful. This is primarily southern cooking by people who know how to do it right. They also have an outside dining area under a patio roof. If the restaurant is crowded, you may want to dine outside since the noise level in the restaurant can get quite loud when it's full of customers.

On 7/12/10, my wife and I had the special crab cake sandwich and it was perhaps the best we have had. Plenty of crab and over sized for the bun. For $8.95 it was well worth it. Only wish they had this special every week. Good service also.

I actually like the Chicken Pantry and often stop in when in Bunnell to get my "Southern" fix... liver and onions! A simple dish but not done very well by many restaurants but this is exactly how I like it. It can get busy in there and when you leave you can smell the place on you but that's part of the charm.

Three different people recently told us to go eat at the Chicken Pantry. We have been by this place a million times and never thought to stop. Each time we have driven by we have always seen a lot of cars . Last night we finally visited. The place was crowded a waitress said how you all doing grab a seat anywhere you like. We ordered the sweet potato wedges and fried green tomatoes first. Great! I had the clam chowder the best I ever had. My husband had fried haddock it was huge, fresh and delicious and I had the Greek Salad which was very fresh and the best salad I have had in a long time. Not able to eat anymore the waitress convinced us in trying the carrot cake also wonderful. A different dining experience people in and out, loud, all sorts of people in and out... bottom line, the food was excellent and the service very friendly.

I went to the Chicken Pantry several months back and was enthused! First it was crowded and the waitress did not take our to go order until 10 minutes later. Then she held my ticket up another five minutes while taking two more orders. It took me thirty minutes to get a sandwich and a drink. Once I got the sandwich, it was fried hard and they used old vegetable oil. This was a first and a last time for me visiting.

Went for lunch on 1/24/09 and had the pork chop special with two sides. The best pork chops I have had... at home or out. Told the owner not to change the supplier. Only miss was they were out of the corn bread and none to take home. Table was clean but the floor definitely needed attention. A constant stream of new guests late on a Saturday evening.

Health food this is NOT. More like the ultimate comfort food. Paula Dean would like it Y'all. The baked apple dessert is so good that you just know you are gonna pay for it later. I have never had a bad plate of food when I dine in. I had take out the other day and got a redneck special (Tomato, beans and onions on a bed of rice) First of all it took 35 minutes to get my food, I am NOT exaggerating, I waited outside on my phone and checked the time. I figured what I ordered wouldn't take long.. but after tasting my meal I realized that they must have put the old rice (hard as a rock) on the bottom and then said.. oops we need to make more, but didn't bother taking the day old rice out of my container. It totally ruined my delish meal., I had to throw the bulk of it away so I didn't chip a tooth. I will go back to the pantry to dine in if friends suggest going.. but never take.

Strange...don't know exactly why, but not our choice for another meal. The food was tasty, service pretty good and the place was packed, but still...something was amiss. Not certain.

Sorry, but this place is just not my thing! Food is flat and flavorless albeit plentiful. The place was packed so I guess it's to many peoples liking though.

A neighbor recommended the Chicken Pantry for traditional local cooking, but unfortunately, it just wasn't what we expected. This is probably best described as Southern style country cooking. You can smell the grease as soon as you enter its small dining area. The food is heavy and over cooked. If you like this type of food, it is plentiful and inexpensive. But traditional local food it is not.

This is a very unhealthy restaurant and not for anyone careful about what they put in their bodies. Basically, it's over fried, over boiled and over seasoned southern food. If you're not concerned about healthier food and this is your thing then you would probably love the Chicken Pantry. Otherwise, there are better alternatives.

This is nothing more than a greasy spoon. It offers free for all seating and a chalked menu. If you like this type of heart clogging food than eat away. For me, this is not good enough food to risk health for as it's either overcooked or over fried. If you're looking for inexpensive down-home style cooking, you'll find it here. Give my regards to your cardiologist!

We love this place! The fried chicken and fried pork chops are amazing, the specials are usually truly special and the blueberry pie is the best ever. The atmosphere is friendly as are the staff and other customers. It's like having a meal with a group of friends.
