he Golden Lion is our favorite place to hang in Flagler Beach as it’s far less biker-ish or rough as the other places. The top deck is the place to be for views and sun rays. We usually order from the raw bar and go through too many cocktails LOL Great staff and service too!

Great weather today and the place was busy and buzzing. Always love sitting on top and our server was a happy little thing and she kept checking on us. Food was slow coming out but that's understandable on a holiday. Everything was very good except the asparagus appetizer which was almost raw and like pieces of wood. Their cocktails are dangerously addictive 🍹

The fish and chips are a must here, and the fish sandwiches and burgers are awesome too. We like sitting at either the tiki bar or the upper deck which has the best ocean views. The whole restaurant has a cool island vibe and they have some great tunes. Staff are young and energetic.

We had a great lunch here. Our server was very cool and efficient and the food was delicious. I had the fish n chips and my wife had the battered fish sandwich and both were excellent. Cocktails were great too. The view was as awesome as ever.

We loved sitting up top with the great views but service was slow and the food could have been better. Drinks were good. We thought it was pricey for the quality of the food, but we did enjoy our time here.

10 years ago, the Golden Lion was a good place, perhaps a great place. But over those 10 years the prices have increased dramatically. Okay I can understand that, but then shouldn't the quality of the food be at least the same? Went there for lunch on a Thursday. Had the fish and chips which were normally wonderful, but they were bland and it was this huge fried dough is all I can think of to describe it.
Sorry, but we found much better fish and chips for a much better price. Just a few miles away. And I'm so sorry to report this, but it is what it is.

Hubs and me had an awesome time here today. The weather was gorgeous and the views perfect. We enjoyed our food and drinks. Their raw bar is tops. Service was sluggish though which may be due to the holiday weekend crowd.
Highlight of visit: The raw bar is fresh.

Review by Duncan, Poole, UK 4/21/20233.0Food:Service:Atmosphere:
We're visiting this wonderful area from the UK and were told we had to try the fish and chips at the Golden Lion. Although we didn't travel all this way to eat fish and chips, we thought we'd give it a go as the weather was terrific, and it looked like a good spot to dine al fresco. The latter was very true, the setting is very enjoyable and the views are tremendous. The service needed some improvement with attentiveness and the timing from the kitchen was off. As for the fish and chips, to us they tasted more like a frozen dinner type than what we are used to back home, but our daughter very much enjoyed her tacos. The cocktails were quite good, although no unique creations were offered, and I just received a blank stare when I requested a drink off the menu. I feel the Golden Lion is a fun place to eat and if the setting was removed, it would not be so popular.

Delicious lunch of nachos appetizer and fish and chips. The cocktails were great but just a bit too sweet for me. Atmosphere is hard to match in Flagler Beach and the staff were very friendly.
Highlight of visit: The Golden Lion still has the best Fish and Chips in Flagler Beach.

We sat at the tiki bar and ordered drinks and food and it was beautiful, at least for 5 minutes. Then people around us started smoking and put us off the place and no way can I eat food around that disgusting smell. Can't stand restaurants that allow smoking around food and drinks. It's 2023 for crying out loud! I thought the Golden Lion had more class.

Good music and awesome setup and location. Service was slow but the food was worth the wait. Love the drinks! Fish and Chips worth coming here for. Plenty of seating options but upstairs looks the best.
Highlight of visit: Their Fish and Chips live up to their reputation.

Review by Brandon, Daytona 1/3/20234.0Food:Service:Atmosphere:
Went on the Monday NY holiday and it was very busy and very foggy, so could hardly see the ocean from the upper deck. Service seemed stretched as did the kitchen. Drinks came out quickly and tasted on the weak side and food was slow. Fish & Chips were OK but not as good as previous times. Wife's tacos were kind of 'wet' but she liked how they tasted. The experience was kind of fun but it's a much better restaurant on more 'normal' days.

We had a girls' night here and had a great time. Service was awesome and made sure we had full glasses. The food has that "island" taste which we love and you just can't find a better setting in Flagler. Thanks to all concerned for bringing us this amazing place.

I come here often and love sitting out enjoying its vibes, but I really wish they opened earlier on Sundays and served brunch. We have some good Sunday brunch options in Flagler Beach but the choices are limited and The Lion I think would be ideal. Love their wings here and the fish sandwich is awesome.

Just love the Lion! Varied menu even though I usually end up with the fish and chips, and I can never get enough of their mixed drinks which go down too well on a hot Saturday afternoon. Staff friendly and lively and of course the views and setting are amazing.

This is a great laid back with a nice beach atmosphere and I like that even when it's busy everyone seems well spaced and it doesn't feel crowded. The food is very good and I often get their fish and chips which are the best, and I also really like their fish tacos and burgers. The staff are all friendly but service from the kitchen can be slow at times. I do like sitting at the tiki bar but it's not always open when I go.

The Golden Lion in Flagler Beach offers an upscale beachside dining experience with stunning ocean views from its rooftop deck and tiki bar. Known for its beach classics, the restaurant serves highly praised fish and chips, fish tacos, coconut shrimp, jerk wings, and a raw bar featuring a fresh seafood tower. Guests often enjoy the selection of well-crafted, beach-inspired cocktails. The lively atmosphere is enhanced by live music and a friendly, youthful staff. While service is generally attentive, some reviews note occasional slowdowns, especially during busy times. Portions have become a bit smaller over time, reflecting rising prices. Overall, The Golden Lion is a place where visitors linger over food and drinks, soaking up the scenery and laid-back vibe, making it a popular spot to relax and enjoy Flagler Beach's coastal setting.
