The food was OK but you can find better Asian cuisine in town. Some sushi were good, one tasted like catfood! Wife had a poke bowl which she only ate... read more!
Review of Wild Ginger by Mark from Palm Coast
One of those restaurants that tries to do too many things instead of doing just one good thing well. I have been here twice now and the sushi was the best thing I had although the rolls were small. Service has room for improvement.

Large menu with many dishes to choose from including broils that the previous restaurant served. My husband had one of the broils, a cajun spiced one, and he was impressed, and I enjoyed a Thai style red curry.

Sorry to say I was disappointed with this new restaurant. The flavors were just not there, portion sizes very small (including the sushi roll), and not close to being as good as any of Palm Coast's other Asian options such as Thia by Thai, Mamaling (especially on service), and all the sushi and Chinese places we have do better. Server was friendly but really not helpful and the decor lost me.

Good not great, but a nice option to have in town and definitely better than its predecessor. The gyoza tasted like you buy in the market and the crab Rangoon were hard with little filling. But the sushi was excellent and the Mongolian beef was tender and tasty. Service was OK and atmosphere needs some work.

I liked it but there is room for improvement. The Mongolian Beef was tasty but the General's was like a frozen supermarket meal and way too sweet, and the Pad Thai needed more flavors. The two sushi rolls we had were very good though. Portions are small for the price. Server was friendly, but effort to get drinks refilled. Didn't like the atmosphere.

We got to try Wild Ginger today and we really liked the food. Good variety of sushi and Asian choices and our sushi and hibachi were all excellent. Service was professional and welcoming but the atmosphere felt off for us. It just didn't have the Asian vibe that would have been much nicer for the type of food. But will go back as the food was very good.

Had the Tonkotsu Ramen and it was perfect for this chilly day, and the Fire Island Sushi Roll looked and tasted amazing. Did not like the vibe though and was expecting a much different atmosphere.

While we found the decor and atmosphere very odd and resembled a low country boil with lucky cat posters, we did receive a friendly welcome and very good service. We had a couple of sushi rolls, which arrived beautifully presented and tasted very fresh but didn't have a lot of flavor. Miso soup was very 'thin' and again had little flavor. I ordered a Steak and shrimp Hibachi dinner and found everything to be dry and salty. My husband had a Chicken with Broccoli that he enjoyed and was happy with the seasoning and the cook. I feel this is one of those restaurants that tries to be too many things instead of specializing in just one or two.

I stopped in alone for a quick lunch and just ordered some sushi which looked and tasted amazing. Service was very attentive but not impressed with the ambiance... I expected it to be Asian themed, but I can't fault the sushi.

We don't celebrate Christmas so was happy to find this open on Christmas day. It has a bit of a mixed bag of Asian food and seafood and the decor is not very Asian at all and looks like it did as the Red Crab prior which we felt was very disappointing. The food was quite good but not the best sushi in Palm Coast and the Kung Pao was no better than from a Chinese takeaway. We're grateful for them being open but the ambiance is a letdown and the food needs lifting.

We were there for the grand opening and it was a bit rough, they were all having issues with the computers. But the food was pretty good, so we gave it another shot this week. The food was very good, i got a scallop grill, and there was about 8 scallops on the plate!! I'm used to getting half that for double the money! The wife got the salmon fried rice, and again a surprisingly generous portion of salmon served on top of the fried rice. Both dishes were very good and generous. Took food home. The only not so great part was the service, but maybe the server was new, or they were short that night, but it wasn't bad enough to not go back. This will be our go to Asian food restaurant in Flagler County.
Highlight of visit: Food was great!

I have been to Wild Ginger's other location which has a much better vibe... this one is not very 'zen' and feels like you're dining in a wooden shed. We had a great server and the food was good although we didn't order that much as it was a quick stop, but will come back to try more.
Highlight of visit: The Hawaiin Sushi Roll was tasty and the fired octopus balls were very good.

It seems to have an identity problem where it wants to be an Asian restaurant but is still trying to be the seafood broil place, and that kind of feels odd. But our server was cool, and the food was actually very good except for one sushi roll, which tasted like cat food! The ramen was tasty. I'm really hoping they evolve and will be back to try more.

The new menu is very good. I had a poke bowl, and my husband had Mongolian Beef. Both were very good. One extremely disappointing issue as the prior part of this series definitely had the most delicious clam chowder which along with other seafood items, are not to the quality or deliciousness we all hoped it would not be eliminated. However, unfortunately, what we had is no longer the same. Clam chowder- as we were promised from Juicy -redcrabseafood.com to keep the delicious soup and seafood when changing to Wild Ginger very disappointed. Why would you take away yummy food. Disappointing! Service was very subpar and not attentive. The sushi lacked flavor and the ingredients were not the best...my rolls were kind of mushy. The hibachi was good though and their mochi was nice. They have some work to do still. Far from the best sushi in Palm Coast and Kawa has them beat on flavors and definitely on service.

Went for lunch and had sushi and the kung pao special. The sushi had way too much sauce on top so I couldn't taste the other ingredients. The kung pao was good but not any better than I can get from a Chinese takeaway in town, but it's nice to eat this kind of food in a restaurant. Server was polite but you can tell staff are new and the restaurant isn't quite running up to speed yet. I'll be excited to see how it is when in full swing.

I don't usually like to visit restaurants when they first open as I like them to sort out the problems first, but a workmate insisted and we went. We just shared some sushi, and I have to say that it is really good and by far the best sushi I've had in Palm Coast. They have many other Asian style dishes on the menu and I can't wait to come back and try more of them. It's a very nice place inside and the staff are enthusiastic and friendly.

I've been to their location at Tanger and liked it, so I was happy to see them open here... I think the Palm Coast one is nicer and bigger although they currently have limited seating and menu for the soft opening. The lettuce wraps were amazing, and their general tso's was really good... fresh and tasty. I'm going to let them get fully operational before I return but very happy to have them in town.
