Review of Happy Chef by Joann from Palm Coast
Happy Chef had me as a happy customer for breakfast. Absolutely love the omelet which was loaded and came with an amazing tomato cilantro sauce... everything was so tasty. Our server was so nice and the restaurant has a lovely Euro feel about it. Such a lovely place.

I feel the food here is tamed down for its location and could be so much better and more authentic. But it was good just not like you'd get in more authentic Ukrainian restaurants with a whole mish-mash of dishes on the menu including buffalo wings, quesadillas, burgers, biscuits and gravy, etc., and not enough Ukrainian dishes that I know the chef will do very well. They have excellent service and a pleasant atmosphere. It has a big For Sale sign on the building so try while you can.
Highlight of visit: The Ukrainian meat ravioli was tasty.

I liked it here and the staff are awesome, but I feel they should be more true to their roots and offer more authentic Ukrainian dishes. They have too many American items and I can get a burger anywhere, I'd like to experience more Eastern European dishes and flavors. But the ones they do have are good, but again I feel they're scaled back for American tastes. Maybe it's the location that worries them! I also see they have a big Restaurant For Sale banner up now so that's sad to see.

Nice cozy place with wonderful service. The portion sizes are generous and the food is delicious. Worth stopping in for a taste of Europe in the heart of Bunnell. Who would have thought? Our favorite lunch place right now.
Highlight of visit: Try my favorite Ukrainian soup and meat ravioli.

This happy chef can really cook! He can make an amazing salad too. Been here a few times now and tried some of the specialties and everything has been very tasty. Cabbage rolls with a salad today was really good. Lady that does out front is very nice. I don't come to Bunnell often but this restaurant is worth visiting for.

I really enjoyed breakfast here, which was an omelet but not like American ones, it is more open similar to a frittata with sausage, potatoes, veggies, and herbs on top. It tasted great and was very filling. The service and atmosphere are top notch. The only thing bad about Happy Chef is its location, and I don't mean that in a bad way, as I don't think people take it as seriously as an excellent restaurant if it was in Palm Coast or Flagler Beach.

I expected some country diner dive when I went in but boy was I wrong. This is a very nice and clean place with real chef food. It has a Ukrainian slant to the menu which sets it apart from other places and they really focus on customer service. The omelet was really awesome and very satisfying. I want to come back to try more.

I have been here twice now and enjoyed it both times. Breakfast is a little limited but their omelets are very good, and for lunch I had the borscht soup with schnitzel which I really liked. Things taste or are a little different in here such as the bacon is thicker and after than American and their omelets are more open and not folded up. They also have excellent customer service and the owners are very pleasant.
Highlight of visit: The borscht is a different soup worth trying and the omelet with Polish sausage and bacon is a filling breakfast.

Not been in here since it was Redds Gator and what a difference. So much nicer inside and has excellent service. The food tastes and looks like it it's prepared by a real chef and not some line cook. Omelet was awesome! Need to make this a regular spot.

A very clean and comfortable restaurant with staff who offer old school service that really makes you feel welcome and appreciated. Their food is delicious and they make the very best omelets I've ever eaten. They also have very tasty Borscht and great salads. The Happy Chef has definitely elevated our local dining options here in Bunnell.

We were very happy with Happy Chef. The food tastes very fresh and handmade with quality ingredients. They have remodeled this old restaurant very well and it's so clean and cozy inside. This is mostly Ukrainian food with some American dishes with a Ukrainian twist. I will say that it is a little pricey for the area but still worth it.

An exceptional family style restaurant with high quality and tasty food. Not only did the food look great but it tasted great too... have eaten breakfasts here a few times and lunch twice, and haven't had a bad experience yet. Loved the pork chops and steak omelet! Very unique for Bunnell with excellent customer service and it couldn't be cleaner inside.

Kind of a dumb name for a restaurant especially as he didn't seem very happy so 1/2 a star knocked off for that, but his food is awesome, and the service is excellent. Bunnell is lucky to have this place and the new Thai across the street, as it really suffered diversity in the culinary scene until these opened. So, some of the food is dumbed down for us Americans, but I just said to bring me what they eat, and what I had was really delicious. The happy chef can cook, and although it may not be with a big smile, it was with a big heart. Eat up, Bunnell, this is good food, and you're lucky to have it!

You can tell the food here is cooked by a chef and not some line cook as it has that special touch and flavor. The Ukrainian soup and ravioli made a great lunch and a welcome change from the usual other offerings around Bunnell. The owners are welcoming and you'll find the atmosphere fresh and comfortable.

We had a delicious breakfast here and received extremely good and friendly service. I was very surprised by how inviting and cozy it is inside and they had many things on the menu that sounded very tempting. It has limited hours but is a very good choice for breakfast (all day) or lunch.
