We were visiting Flagler Beach for the first time and decided to stop in the Funky Pelican for a few drinks. We happened to luck out with 2 exceptional bar tenders, Crystal and Danielle. They were both very welcoming and attentive; a true asset to this establishment. Highly recommend Funky Pelican and will stop back when we’re in the area in the future.

Best breakfast and views at the beach!! Vibe awesome and staff cool and friendly. Shrimp & Grits are killer and better half loves the Breakfast Flatbread. Their version of Bloody Marys are amazing with shrimp, cheese and Slim Jims... sounds weird but it works very well. Wish I could have this every day!

They have the best viewing deck in Flagler Beach which is large with unrestricted views. Fun place to eat and drink and watch the beach goers. Many delicious items on the menu but I favor the Caribbean Combo with Mahi Mahi. Drinks are also awesome and I recommend the Funked Up Mary which is a bit pricey but is quite a slow drink. Service can be lacking sometimes and funny enough usually worse during slower times.

Love the food and location but the service needs some work. Been here many times and yet to experience good service. Either long waits to get seen or attended to, drinks and food take forever, server in a pissy mood or wants to talk politics more than take our order, one we asked to speak with a manager and I'm convinced she just got a friend to come over and talk to us!!! BUT the food is good and we like sitting outside here with the views. This is not like Finns or Golden Lion where you're hundreds of feet away and across the street from the beach, here' you're right on it, so you can really smell and taste that sea air! Makes everything so much better.

Funky Pelican in Flagler Beach offers a moderately priced seafood menu with memorable coastal flavors and a range of creative cocktails, including the guava tequila drink and holiday specials like the MistletoeRita. Guests often enjoy outdoor seating on the back deck, where views of the beach and pier provide a lively backdrop for people watching. Signature dishes praised by visitors include mahi tacos, the mahi reuben, mojo fries and burrito, and breakfast favorites like the Crab Cake Benny and Hot Honey Chicken Biscuit. Service is generally friendly and attentive, though occasionally a bit slow. Some starters like calamari and crab hush puppies receive mixed feedback, but entrees and drinks maintain consistent appeal. While the building shows signs of age, the overall experience remains relaxed and engaging, making it a dependable spot for lunch, dinner, or weekend brunch.
