Service is hit or miss and the atmosphere depends on the crowd, but it's the best option for late night eats along the beach. Most other places close their kitchens early. Food is reasonable but on the heavy and greasy side. Mixed drinks are just mixers thrown together so don't expect any craft or higher quality cocktails here. I just stick with a beer in these kinds of places.

Not the most endearing place on the beachside... I should have seen the red flag when everywhere else was packed and this place was nearly empty. Even though there weren't many other customers, it still took forever to get our drinks which were not worth waiting for. Plus everyone just kept staring, which was very disconcerting. Or maybe these people haven't seen two AA girls out for a drink in here before??? No idea why it's rated much higher on Google as I saw no reason to ever return.

I don't recommend Johnny's as their food doesn't compete with all the other beach bars, and I don't like how smokers are around people eating. There's some kind of tension in the vibe here that's unsettling and the inside areas are very dingy. Flagler Beach is a fun lively beach town with some excellent beachfront bars and restaurants that are all better than here for food, atmosphere and service.

If I could give a "0" star I would but this review requires something!!!! I was there once before and stated that I would never go back but I had family in town it was very late and my family said they were hungry. Against my recommendation they wanted to give them a try mostly because Johnny D's was the only place open near the coast.
We went inside due to it being cold out. Sat at a booth. Waited approximately 20 minutes before leaving to find a spot in Palm Coast to eat.
We were never greeted by anyone from the staff while we were there. However, we did receive some very unwelcoming looks from several of the staff members.
I told my family that this place did not let me down from what I expected from the worst place in Flagler Beach. I recommend staying as far away from this place as possible. Horrible in all aspects!!!!

Review by Corie Berg, Palm Coast 9/12/20213.0Food:Service:Atmosphere:
I enjoyed sitting outside and even without the beach view, was able to enjoy the beach breeze. The menu has a lot of variety. The waitress told us she was new, so didn't expect her to be perfect. The food is ok. Nothing particularly special, but good enough. I had fish and chips. The breading on the fish was nice and crispy and the fish didn't fall apart at least. I asked for malt vinegar and the waitress had no idea what I meant. She brought me the salad vinegar and oil. The fries were like McDonald's fries. The slaw was boring. The onion rings were good.
The chili on the hot dog was basic like canned chili. There really isn't anything that we had that was memorable or that would bring me back. I had a couple of margaritas. They were in very small plastic cups with a lot of ice. My friend thought it was a large shot! I jokingly called it the kid's menu margarita. At least it tasted good, but there's no way they fit a shot of tequila in that cup because there wasn't room for anything else if they did. I definitely didn't taste any tequila. So I would not consider this to be a great place to hang for drinks. Maybe the late night after drinking breakfast would be worth a try.

Johnny D's in Flagler Beach offers a casual, beach bar vibe with a spacious setup that includes an outdoor area and pool tables. Known for its friendly staff and reasonable prices, it serves classic pub fare such as wings, fried pickles, sliders, and a fish sandwich, which many find satisfying alongside cold beers and cocktails. Frozen drinks like daiquiris and the Captain's Punch are popular choices. The atmosphere is relaxed and social during the day and early evening, though some find it less inviting at night. Bar games and music add to the experience, and service is generally good, though a few mention occasional slow or uneven service. Overall, it's a comfortable spot for informal drinks and bites near the beach, particularly appreciated for its welcoming environment and drink selection.
