This is a wonderful store and restaurant combo with a good selection of products and delicious food. This chef can cook and I advise skipping the American options and going for the Eastern European dishes. I will say that Happy Chef does take some finding and you have to turn opposite the school.

It was a challenge to find this place and it didn't look much from the outside, but once inside you get a very friendly welcome and the restaurant is elegant and cozy. The food was well worth the effort to find, and I recommend avoiding the American dishes and opting for the chef's specialties, such as the Ukrainian ravioli and schnitzel. The restaurant is combined with a deli and a grocery store which sells some interesting imported items.

You have to search for this deli but it's worth the hunt. The restaurant portion is a classy space serving some delicious food. The Happy Chef can really cook! And the deli and store portion is full of great finds and interesting imported goods.

This is a great Eastern European store/deli/restaurant where everything is very fresh and the owners are very nice and helpful. The chef here can really cook well. I recommend their omelets and the chicken shaurma. The store is fun to browse around with many unique imported goods to try. Only issue is that it's hidden away and not easy to find.

I had no idea they repoened here! They've expanded to include an Eastern European deli and grocery and the restaurant side is nice with a bar and seating area. The chef knows how to cook and packs a lot of flavor into his dishes. Great beer on draft and lots of new things to try.
NOTE: Happy Chef is hidden away but it's in the corner of a center opposite Old Kings School.
