Review of Oriental Garden by Nick from Palm Coast
The hostess was very friendly and kind regarding our dietary requests. All of our dishes were very good and arrived very hot and flavorful. The fried rice was awesome! Noodles very good also. Plenty left for later. The inside is basic but clean.

I stopped ordering from here as the food kept going downhill, but I got dinner here tonight and found the food to be much improved. Not perfect, but it's still tasty. Service was better too and my order was quick, plentiful and nice and hot.

Stopped in for lunch on my own and the place was completely empty, then the lady came out from the back and warmly welcomed me. I ordered Shanghai Spring Rolls and the Vegetable Egg Foo Young and was very impressed with how quickly it came out and everything looked freshly cooked. the Spring Rolls were excellent and the Egg Foo Young had the best gravy which was really flavorful. I admit the place could do with a revamp but in a way it feels more authentic as it is. Feels like you could be in China.
Highlight of visit: Egg Foo Young was delicious and the gravy they served it with was excellent.

Not the nicest place inside and service is slow, but no complaints about the actual food, which has improved a lot lately and is very tasty. The beef with garlic sauce was delicious today and very good egg roll and rice. I think one person would help with the service.

I haven't eaten here for many years and apart from new owners, it hasn't changed much with decor almost the same. The menu is as I recall too, which is your basic Chinese food with no unique house recipes or dishes that I keep hoping for. What we had tasted good but nothing stood out from any other Chinese restaurant in Palm Coast. The service was very friendly but could have been more attentive. Overall, if you're in the mood for Chinese food, this is quite a good place for a reliable meal.

Not the best dining experience here. I met a friend for lunch and we were the only people dining in, and although the service was friendly it was slow and I think she was distracted with takeout orders and doing something else. The restaurant itself is worn and feels like it needs refreshing. I had the General Tso's which lacked flavor and the sauce was too sweet. Rice and egg roll were OK but just a very average meal at best.

Really average food and not a very good experience. We sat in a booth that needed repair and one server who kept disappearing. Food fell flat and tasted like premade from Restaurant Depot - yes, I went in there and saw what they have! Pick any one of the other myriad Chinese restaurants in Flagler and you'll do better than here.

I had a large order so I went in to place instead of calling to make sure they had it all, and when i came back when told to I still had to wait another 15 minutes which was fine as it was a busy holiday night. They did everything correct and was well packaged. Most of the items tasted good with some way too sweet for the adults and a couple were short on meats. The Roast Pork Fried Rice was heavy on oil but I found the noodle dishes were the best particularly the Singapore Mei Fun which was really delish. Overall they did a good job considering the pressure they were under for New Years and nothing we ordered went to waste.

The lady out front was nice and helpful but the restaurant appears run down. We decided to get the food to go and found the meat dishes quite tasty but the rice was very bland and everything was on the greasy side. It kind of feels like they're operating on a very tight budget which they probably are, but paint and a good cleaning can be a cheap improvement to make it feel better.

The food was decent and had very good flavors but wasn't very impressed with the vibes... not very inviting and grubby. The service had no enthusiasm either. This would be good for takeout as the food is worth it.
Highlight of visit: Hunan Shrimp & Chicken was excellent.

So, they have new owners and I hope they fix the place up as it is looking very tattered and feels kind of stale in there. Lady taking my order had difficulty understanding me but then again so does my wife 😂 Apparently they kept the same cook so the same menu and food tastes the same it did before which is actually good. The jumbo shrimp General Tso were plentiful and plump, and the sesame beef was tender. I did ask for the Generals to be spicy but it was still very mild. Good sized portions and had a lot to take home for another meal. Prices are good.

Simple restaurant with kind of scattered service but the food here is very good with nice sized portions. We pick up from here often and it's always hot and fresh and tastes great with enough left for the next day. All for a good price.

This place has been around forever and has always served very tasty food, but lately there have been signs of economizing and I've noticed smaller portions, less meat and smaller pieces, and ingredients skimpy and padded out with sauce, rice or noodles. Prices have risen too like most places, but I'd like to think prices are rising for the same product and not for less. The dining area is not very welcoming anymore and I definitely see a lack of passion with service now as well. I recommend in hope they balance everything out because they're a good family and once ran an excellent restaurant.

I ordered four seasons. Shrimp, beef, chicken and pork on vegetables. I got home and had one shrimp. One lowly, sad shrimp placed on top of my meal. For the money definitely not worth it. Strongly do not recommend.

Kinda run down and worn inside. Server needed help and jostled between tables and phone orders and pickups. Food was about average and tasted like everywhere else. Still keep hoping for a really good Chinese restaurant in this town. I'd recommend this one for takeout but not the best experience eating inside.

I think this is the oldest Chinese restaurant in Palm Coast and although it's showing signs of its age with wear on the carpet and seating and a musty atmosphere, it's still a very good option for take out. The food has the best flavor of other local Chinese's and not too sweet. They have some good specialties and we always find one is enough for the two us or more than one meal. I recommend the Seafood Pan Fried Noodles and they make very good Egg Foo Young.

Like all the other Chinese restaurants in the area the dishes here are all very ubiquitous and nothing unique or original. We found that the food was about average but not as greasy as most. Service was stretched and spent more time on the phone and attending to takeout orders than to us. Atmosphere was non existent with bright lights and mirrored walls and tatty booth seats.

Good COVID precautions and cleanliness habits. No frills but very tasty food and courteous service. Very well priced and portions generous. We have been ordering from here for many years and haven't found better in Flagler!
Highlight of visit: They do a great Mapo Tofu and Kung Pao Beef.

This was one time the best Chinese restaurant in Palm Coast, but sadly it's really declined. The food has lost its flavor and service was almost non existent, even though it was empty, and he spent more time on the phone. Interior has not been touched for 20 years and with boxes stacked up it felt like I was eating in a storage unit full of 80's furniture. Please come back!

Not what it used to be!!! This was the best Chinese restaurant in Palm Coast but it's declined lately. Food is not as tasty and service was really bad and unfriendly. Not sure if they changed hands or not but the guy in there now needs lessons on customer service. Hope it improves again.
