Review of By the Sea Cafe by Randy from Palm Coast
We visit this cafe often for breakfast as it's dog friendly plus we love the food and atmosphere. It's a rustic place with lovely views and they serve the best pancakes and omelets. Haven't been for their BBQ yet but plan to soon.

Located just across the A1A so has good view of the ocean. Server had a wonderful attitude and we got our coffee and juice almost immediately. Food took longer than expected to arrive and was quite good. Potatoes were overcooked but the omelette was superb. Husband's eggs were on the under cooked side (ordered over easy) but thought everything else was good. Server apologized and offered to correct but we had waited so long for the food and had to get going. If the kitchen could work on their timing it would be a much better experience.

Visited Sunday morning for breakfast and was quite busy. It's very small and rustic with some outside seating if the weather is nice. It's also right on the A1A so it has some lovely views. The staff is very friendly and welcoming but service was a kind of slow. It's a very typical menu and we both had omelets... hubby had a Meatlover's and I had the House. Both tasted good and a good size but quite heavy and not so light and fluffy like I prefer. Their unsweetened ice tea is excellent which is hard to find around here. Overall a nice breakfast and setting but nothing very extraordinary.

They now have BBQ and I tried their Cuban Pork which I thought it was very good. Cold outside but had nice views. Inside is rustic and quite small. Service is friendly and overall a good restaurant.

Lovely cozy place with inviting atmosphere and ocean views. Breakfast is spot on I love their pancakes and omelets and they have excellent sausage gravy too. Waitstaff always on the ball and friendly and great prices. I think outside seating only right now plus they have started to offer slow cooked BBQ which I haven't tired yet but will soon.

Went for breakfast this weekend and enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Quaint place with nice ocean views from the porch. Service friendly but a little slow. Omelet and biscuits and gravy were both good. Reasonably priced and portions about right. Hours were off during construction but I think that's all finished there now.

By the time we made it through the A1A construction we were ready for breakfast. This is very home made food cooked perfectly and good sized portions. We had omelets which were excellent. Service friendly and food came out quickly. Cute place right across from the beach with outside seating but we sat inside because that area was ruined by smokers.

This is one of the restaurants I've been wanting to check out for a long time but for some reason or another it was never open when we trued, but finally managed to get an early weekend breakfast here. It's a cute family run type of place serving a typical menu of breakfast item, pancakes, omelets, bagels, etc. I had a veggie omelet and my hubby had a Big Brute(?) breakfast. My omelet was good and hubby liked his except he wished the cheese on his hash browns would of been melted. Coffee was not the best but drinkable. Service was friendly but food did seem to take a while coming out. Prices very reasonable and the views wonderful.
Highlight of visit: The view! Sit outside if weather nice.

On 3/31/16, I inquired if I could dine on the patio and have my dog join me. Management threatened that I'd be fined $450 if I "set foot on the property with my dog." Wow, just wow. I was ready to dine without my pooch if the answer had simply been "no." I honestly felt threatened and left Flagler with a sour taste in my mouth. The night before Snack Jack's happily accommodated me and my canine buddy. I would never recommend this to anyone, dog owner or not. They lack basic people skills, which should be a given in this industry.

Absolutely the best! We travel from Daytona Beach and pass many other places but nothing stops us, we are going to the Cafe!
Read about it here, tried it, go back at least every 8-10 days or so. We love it! Just glad it's not closer or I'd weigh 400 lbs.
Burgers, reubens, omelets, home fries, ice-t all the best! Counting the days till I go back and try the Bar-b-que sandwich. Just ate there today and have not talked myself (or wife) out of going back for breakfast tomorrow.
Something about the friendliness (not phony, these are the real deal people), atmosphere, and the view of the ocean that screams OMELETS and HOMEFRIES. (breakfast served from open to close)
Genuine gratitude for your business is a rare find in an ocean resort eatery. Most are we got your money, probably never see you again, bye-bye.......NEXT!
I'm trying to save you a year and a half search (which I had) for a great place to eat, w/ great people.
I actually give the place 6+ stars.

We went to that place twice on Thursday and Friday before Easter. Atmosphere is just great, same with the food. My wife and I spent some time stolling the beach while our daughter sat inside to continue her reading for university. Absolute treasure that we found on Flagler Beach. Went back there the following day from Jacksonville for Lunch and another walk on the beach.
Will definitely come back to that place.

Okay, I know. I have rated the By the Sea Cafe before. But get ready to be be absolutely astonished! Tonight was the first Dinner offering. Wednesday and Thursday open 4PM to 9PM and Friday and Saturday 4 PM to 10PM. The best part is that they are also doing the same daytime fare, (Thank God!)
The wife and I had the half rack of Baby Back ribs with the black-eyed peas & rice w/a fresh salad! Just before the Dinner was served they brought out a brown small loaf of bread. We expected what you would get somewhere else. I should have known better. Kat had the bread specially baked just for the Cafe. Honey Wheat Bread all warm with melted butter, OMG! The rib meat fell off our forks and tasted exactly as if they had been smoked all day. That is because they were smoked all day!
Tell y'all what, I'm calling Guy Fieri and I am going to try my best to get him to do a show at this place. Folks, it's just that good. They have steaks, kabobs and lots more. There is only one bad thing to say about this place. The food is so good you want to act like you are at home and ask Momma for seconds! Oh and yes, there was homemade, real homemade, pies! Not gonna tell you what kind, you'll just have to go there to see for yourself. I wish I had six stars to give them. One more thing, this being the first night open at night the place was packed. They had done no advertising either. Word of mouth from satisfied friends says a lot about a place and the people who make it happen, (Not customers-you really are friends there) . See you at the Cafe by The Sea then?

I went here twice. Once with my boyfriend and once with my grandmother. Both times were amazing. Outside seating. Everything is made fresh and amazing. My boyfriend and I both had steak and chicken and my grandmother had shrimp she loved it. We loved watching the pelicans dive into the Ocean right across the street.

There is a mistake on the page and as good as this place is please make a note of this. They do in fact accept credit cards, not American Express though. Kat just introduced a new sandwich, mahi mahi! My God is it good! I cannot think of anything She makes that is bad. And no, I am not a owner, relative, or a paid person. I am just a very lucky person that my wife and I stumbled into this place a few years back. By the Sea, eating mahi mahi, watching the Dolphins teach their young how to be a Dolphin! What may I ask could be better than that? Well okay, right, If Jen was not expecting might help her "Chemical induced attitude". Just pulling her chain folks, Jen is the best! There is not one person there that is not committed to making your experience there the best you have ever had, with food anyway! LOL

Okay, we have been going here to have Kat cook our breakfast for the past year. We go there about three or four times a week. We travel from the "W" section of Palm Coast nearest to Palm Cost parkway so that in itself has to let you know this place is tops! They won the best in family resturants and best breakfast, I believe. It is old Florida so do not expect blazing fast food! It is a place to kick back and enjoy the Ocean views. You can still smoke outside on the back patio or in the front with full view of the Atlantic. If you are looking for NY speed and frenzy, you will not find it here. The owner, (Kat) is a Florida born citizen. All the food there is cooked, not thawed out! And none of that "cooked last night bacon and reheated in the morning" stuff either. The only bad thing about The By The Sea Cafe is that it could become so popular Kat would need to expand. But that would perhaps not be a problem because it is Kat and her attention to her customers that makes the differences. And do not forget to get one of the cards. They have ten punches on them and when full, (The card, not you!) you get a free breakfast. I guess you can pretty tell we love the place. We are not relatives or nor do have a business relationship with Kat. We were at the Golden Lion, (Great place too!) for a poker run and bought a door prize ticket which was pulled and we won a free breakfast last year. Glad we found this place and so should you. Enjoy!
