One example of overpriced products, is in the Bagels. They sell and individual bagel for only $0.60 but charge $1.70 plus tax for a buttered bagel (toasted or not). That is $1.10 for butter. But they don't put more than a smear on the bagel, so you may as well not have any butter at all.
Worse is the service. Walking into the place and seeing only one person up front to handle all the customers, she is playing with the cash register for over ten minutes with a customer waiting for a large order and the line building behind. No one else would come out to assist. This is not the first time I have seen this occur as even with the above comment on the bagels. It is the last time I will see it.

Now this is a true deli and bakery. Feels just like an old fashioned New York place. Bagels are water boiled so they are crunchy on outside and chewy on inside and they have tons of seeds all over them. The pastrami & corned beef are as good as Katz's Deli and the black & white cookies are wonderful. Hard to believe this place is in Flagler County. I am one of their newest fans.

Great food at a low price. The pancakes are immense. When ordering breakfasts, we usually end up at least two meals.

When staying in Palm Coast this winter I couldn't wait to go here for a pastrami Reuben. I was extremely disappointed this time! My pastrami was tough which made it hard to eat and very unappetizing. I think if I go back I will stick to ordering just soup. I would not spend the money for a tough sandwich again.

Visited for breakfast and found this place to be a lot larger than I thought and quite busy. Our server was friendly and many staff were happy to take away empty plates, etc. as they passed. My omelet was okay. It was a little too browned and under seasoned, but it did have plenty of vegetables inside. The bagel tasted like any sold in the store and the coffee wasn't bad, and it was nice to get a pot on the table which doesn't happen too often anymore. Overall a pretty good local breakfast choice.

Everything is homemade. Even the pastrami, corned beef, turkey, brisket. There is no place around here where you can get a kettle boiled bagel and ever notice the seeds on bottom & top? I also love the fact that the bagels are made fresh throughout the day. This place reminds me of real delicatessens. I would go to Publix (which I do when I want a sub) for Boars Head products. But for soup like my mother used to make and fresh, quality foods it's always Strathmore. I also find the owners always around and many times help me themselves. It's a homey, friendly place and my church picks up any left over bagels at the end of the day for the homeless.

Sorry to say, not as good as in the past. Not sure what's going on here but our smoked sable was slimy and our bagels stale and burnt. We'll give them another try, but we're waiting a while. We had some problems in the past with the freshness of sides but this time it was the main item; smoked sable, it cost like $10 a quarter pound and I do not expect to be served spoiled food at any price, especially this price. Truthfully, it all should have been comped and we should have received an apology.Oh, the bagels we got to go? They're stale too.

When we arrived at Strathmore we were expecting a small hole-in-the-wall shop with good food. But when we went into Strathmore we wanted to dine in the place was pretty big. The place was packed but we only had to wait 5 or 10 minutes. Our server, Chris, was great and he got our order very fast. When our food arrived I couldn't believe how much food we got for the price we paid. The pancakes they have are soo light and fluffy and HUGE, let's just say I am going to be having pancakes for launch too. Then as we were enjoying our brunch the owner came around to see how everything was, they are such nice people that care about the quality of their restaurant. This is a hidden gem and a true New York Deli!

We had friends visiting from out of town so figured this would be a good place to stop and have breakfast before they left to return home. Big mistake. The breakfast took forever to come out and when it finally did, left a lot to be desired. The pancakes were terrible! I don't know if they are from a mix or whatever but they were tasteless and heavy - yuck!
Then, we asked for a glass of skim milk and the waitress informed us they don't have skim milk - they just add water to the regular milk. Needless to say, we asked for the bill and left. Very disappointing. Will never go back.

Let me start on a positive note by saying the food/bagels are excellent. Things that need some serious improvement? Employees personality, they should always greet you with a smile and be happy to serve you... I've been here about 3 times and each time the employees don't make you feel that "I want your business/Thank you" kind of vibe!
Each time I have never ordered anything that had to be "cooked" or even really "prepared".. .some cookies and a toasted bagel w/ butter.. and a 1/2pnd tuna (at most) and I've always had to wait between 10-15 minutes ... and that is NOT on a busy day!
The prices are kind of steep; I do believe there should be lunch "specials" ...
I will go back only because the food is really good... and the cookies are actually bakery style! I hope they read this and take it into consideration in making some changes with their staff.
Yes, we do have specials every day. Mon. - Friday breakfast specials from 7 am until 10 am. Very inexpensive breakfasts! Lunch specials every day including weekends and brown bag specials everyday. We even have a buy 5 lunches, only pay for 4 and Sunday morning special 7 am-9am - 10% off sit down breakfast.
Thank you for your comments and please introduce yourself when in the next time,
Karyn.

Great breakfasts for under $5 (drink included!) on weekdays, with fast, friendly service--it doesn't get much better than this! Lunches are a bit higher priced, but the proportions are good and they have some excellent sandwiches.

Tried the pancakes with Blueberries. Excellent and the portion was huge. The service was better than normal for Florida. The owner came around and spoke to each and every diner and asked if everything was okay. Really large portions and the price was not bad at all. We liked this place. Will go back again.

When our family comes up from South Florida or down from North Carolina, we always have lunch at Strathmore's. The corned beef and nova salmon are really delicious. We rarely order bagels since there is so much else that is good to eat. And when we go to visit the relatives, we always stop to take out Salmon, cheese, and bagels. A very good New York style deli. Yes, it can be crowded, but the delis in NY are crowded too. :)

Called waited on hold for 8 minutes, thought I was disconnected and called again... on hold for over 9 minutes... not believing the hold time, called from my second phone...11 minutes. I can't believe they treat valuable customers that way. Why can't they just take the order and give a time as to when it would be ready... unbelievable! The girl said they can't stop and take an order...so where are the managers... you know the people that want business!

I have rarely experienced customer service as bad as at the Strathmore deli. Let me say that I have never had a better pastrami sandwich, but we had to order it from the takeout counter because the woman working the hostess desk was totally incompetent. We were told the wait would be 20 minutes and after waiting for an hour (and watching a party of the same size which came in after us be seated) we ordered takeout and expressed our frustration to the hostess who acted like we were the ones being unreasonable. Since she did nothing to remedy the situation, we talked to the owner who seemed like a nice guy, but instead of apologizing and taking ownership of the problem he instead told us we should have made a reservation. If this review was based on the food alone we would have given 5 stars for sure, but due to the inexcusable customer service we will never go back.

One Saturday, my boyfriend and I went to try Strathmore instead of our usual bagel shop. I ordered a chicken salad on a salt bagel and he ordered lox on a bagel. There was only one salt bagel left at the time. When we received our order I was very surprised at the price. $21!? We could have got that for half the price with larger portions. The chicken salad was okay but the bagel had almost no salt and was rather hard.

Really 10 minutes on a busy day? This place has the best bagels compared to any place around. We go for takeout and dine in all the time. For anyone who has not tried this establishment please do. There is a reason the parking lot is always full and there is usually a wait time to dine in.

The only reason I go to this establishment is for a bagel, plain and simple... but its not that simple. Every time I visit i wait and i wait and i wait.... the service is grumpy, is it the end of the world to serve me a bagel within 10 minutes? I can't figure out what is so difficult about the job, you would think its the easiest job. For example, say hello, ask "which bagel" and serve... really is it that hard? So disappointed as i won't be going back.
