We eat out frequently in the region. Barbara Jean's is one of our favorites. Starting with the great hot rolls and pumpkin bread through to the dessert it is ALL very good. BJ's salad is excellent. Shrimp dishes are all good, and if you want a real "he-man's" meal get the roast beef dinner. Catfish is the best in the area. You can't go wrong here...and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. Good drinks, too.

Hubby and I went to visit another restaurant at the European Village but they were too busy so we decided to try Barbara Jean's and glad we did. This was our first visit and we were made to feel very welcomed. The restaurant is nicely decorated with a southern feel and is relaxing and comfortable. We started with their crab soup which was delicious and for entrees my hubby had a platter that he really enjoyed and I had the crab cakes that were recommended by the server that were very good. No room for desert and although a little on the pricey side, we enjoyed this experience at Barbara Jean's and will return.

Three of our party of four had a delicious meal. The fourth had marinated chicken which she said lacked "taste". Over all a highly recommended place to eat. I thought the ice tea, although very good, was a bit pricey.

BJ's is great! Food is consistent which is rare in Palm Coast and servers are very nice. Have enjoyed all I had here so far and I agree with others that BJ's is much more suited for beachside, the European Village is not nice anymore.

They have an awesome she-crab soup and shrimp salad sandwich, you can get them as a combo too. Prices are reasonable. The fried fish sandwich is also very good. Haven't really tried anything else on the menu because the shrimp salad sandwiches and she-crab soup is too irresistible. I hear the crab cakes are the best in town, but I think they are just a little too high priced as a platter so if you want to try get it as a sandwich to save some money. The only thing that would make them better would be if they were located right off the beach.

We tried this restaurant for the first time this week and really enjoyed it. It's my kind of food... simple southern type home style and nicely seasoned. Server was very good and my only complaint was the European Village. You have to walk over lose pavers to get there and the upkeep seems seriously lacking.

2 people in our party had the crab cakes and both said they were the best they had ever eaten. The she crab soup and the cream of mushroom soup were both very good. Kelly was our waitress. She was attentive, cheerful and more than willing to answer any questions we had about different items on the menu. We are all looking forward to going there again.

I like Barbara Jean's. I've been to the original and in Charleston and they all have a very similar appearance and decor inside, which is warm and inviting. This is not high end cuisine but very good nicely cooked southern food. Portions are a good size and service is super friendly. They mix pretty good drinks as well.

Every few weeks I have to come here for my she crab soup and crab cake fix! I've never had anything else here but I just enjoy this same meal so much I don't want to miss out. My husband usually orders different items and he likes the meatloaf and fried chicken best. Their chocolate desert is good when I have room.

There is nothing better then a restaurant that has really the best high end food, friendly wait staff and an owner going from table asking if everything is okay. The food was prepared to perfection. The portions are huge and a big plus the home baked breads that are mouth watering by themselves. If you want your money's worth, Barbara Jeans is on the top of my list.

She-crab chowder is their specialty and their worse dish; a lot of flour and very little crab meat in it. It looked like a bowl of foam last time I ordered one. I ended up returning it to the kitchen. It killed my appetite. I left without eating dinner. I will not be going back. Everything else is standard cafeteria food.

My wife and I go there probably once a month. The service is fast and friendly, and the food is delicious. So much to choose from. I had the shrimp scampi last night. It was very good, and the only time I haven't come home with food. I usually get the fried chicken sandwich or meatloaf with tomato sauce. Always get broccoli and rice casserole as a side.

I work in Palm Coast from time to time and often bring my wife. When she accompanies me, she suggests this restaurant more often than any other. I have to say the food is very good, never a disappointment. Their prices are fair and the service is good. It always lives up to what it is a good, old fashioned, no nonsense, American eatery. It's not the Ritz, but if there was another 1/2 star I could give it, I would. A 41/2 !

Good food, good prices. I had the She Crab Soup (which is like a Crab Bisque) and the Crab Cakes. Hubby had Crab Cakes and Shrimp. Both entrees were great, the sides were good. The cheese grits were cold but the server took them back and brought me fresh with an apology. Service was top notch. Pumpkin bread was to die for.
