Review of Barnhill's Cafe by Evelyn from Palm Coast

We tried it here today and were impressed with the quality and taste of the food and professional customer service. They do a French Onion style crepe that has a red wine sauce which was very unique and delicious., and my husband enjoyed the Smach burger. The decor is pleasant with a nice open feel.

Nice new spot a block in from the beach... the restaurant is on the 2nd floor but views aren't too great... had a Maryland Benedict which has crab and was impressed... potatoes a little too salty for me... coffee latte was good... lots of flavors to choose from... professional staff... I'd visit again.

This place is fantastic and just what Flagler needed. A touch of downhome and upscale pulled off beautifully! Thanks Mr Barnhill.
Highlight of visit: Crabcake

Not how I expected it to be inside with a kind of wood cabin feel inside and lack of art, which I hoped for considering the owners own the gallery next door. Service was very professional and I just went for a burger as I had one of those cravings. Their signature burger is the Flagler Smash which is a 1/2 pounder in a brioche bun, and was although came with their house sauce, it was very much just a standard burger you can get anywhere. But it was tasty and did satisfy that craving. The fries are petal shaped and a little thin for me and my fat fingers. Overall I did enjoy I here and would like to return for breakfast with my SO.

My husband and I each had a bowl of soup. I enjoyed the Italian Wedding and he had the corn chowder. The food was tasty and portion reasonable- but we were disappointed that it was served without crackers, rolls or bread. We hope this changes when the restaurant is fully opened.

I really would give the food 4.5 stars, if I could. Their Smash burger was juicy, and flavorful - and the buttery onions were the perfect addition. The potato petals are unique. Crispy on the outside & fluffy inside. A fun side.
The only improvement I can think of is to make sure the tomatoes are ripe and taste like tomatoes before adding them & there is no way you can layer chunks of lettuce on a burger that enables a person to eat it. A couple of small tweaks & you would get a perfect rating.
BTW Karen took great care of us. And Manny delighted the birthday girl with a decadent chocolate croissant. 😎
Highlight of visit: Karen gave us part 1 of the two part tour. Manny made a great cappuccino. And the Chef was great - he came out to share the potato petal secret with us.

If breakfast is anything to go by, they're off to a good start. Great latte and had a wonderful crepe that looked as good as it tasted. Nice restaurant and terrific staff.
