Ai Japanese Restaurant PERMANENTLY CLOSED

Finally got around to trying this restaurant. It's quite nice inside and the service was very friendly and smiled a lot. The gyoza dumplings appetizer was not too great but the selection of sushi we had were very good. The atmosphere is calm and overall a nice dining experience.

Not the best sushi I've had but still very good. It was nice and fresh and they had a good selection. Service was excellent. Prices a little high but that seems to go with most sushi places.

I've been here several times and the food and service is always great. There's nothing pretentious about this little place, just great sushi and fantastic unagi!

I like this place. I've only had the sushi, but it was very good, and the staff was very accommodating!

The Rainbow roll is out of this world, the service is stellar... great place with great food!

I don't quite get the outstanding reviews of Ai. It's a nice little restaurant, inside looks tired and a little dated and is not exactly elegant or sophisticated. On our visit we only saw one server and he was very friendly and attentive, but there was only one other table occupied. The sushi we ordered was OK. It lacked any great excitement and didn't seem as creative as most sushi bars these days are offering. Overall, I think Ai is falling behind on the sushi times. You only have to visit sushi bars in other areas (and some here) to see the difference.

My Wife and I ate here for dinner. Had not been here for ten years. The food was great and so was the service. We will return soon.

Wonderful, wonderful and just the best sushi in town along with the fact the service is beyond great! Our entire family is in love with Ai... please give it a try!

My wife and I visited for lunch and ordered the sampler for an appetizer plus a selection of sushi. The sampler consisted of two each fried Gyoza, Harumaki and shumai which were OK but not particularly flavorful. The Gyoza seemed very hard and maybe over-fried. One sushi roll was excellent, I think it was called The Dynamite, but the spicy tuna roll was bland and had absolutely no spice to it at all, and the other was a salmon roll that wasn't too bad. The server was friendly and very pleasant and there's quite a nice atmosphere in there, albeit simplistic.

Very good restaurant for sushi. I haven't had any of their other items but their sushi is very good. Service is excellent. This is a small restaurant but has a good vibe.

We had the very very best sushi and sashimi ever! The place is small but has character, service is top notch. The creamy ginger dressing is super tasty... good portions and the lite menu is great, good prices. Really enjoyed our visit, we will make this a regular treat for us.

Ai now has a special dinner menu in addition to their main menu. The special menu has most of the same items you will find on the regular menu, but the prices are under $10.00! It is still the fantastic food and quality, just a little bit of a smaller portion (but plenty to fill you up). I have been eating here almost weekly for several years and I have never been disappointed. Thank you Ai.

This is my favorite place to eat. My family took me there for my birthday and the food was great. My husband likes to take me there to sushi. This is the only pace I will eat sushi. The food is always fresh and cooked perfect! We have turned so many people on to this place. I recommend it for everyone!

Just had heard from a friend that they have a new menu with some super specials and had to try, We were not disappointed in the least! Great added touch with the discount menu and the art work on the ceiling is great, all done by the owner. Very worth the trip! Will come again and again! Such fresh sushi!

Oh my, What a treat. My co- worker told me about this place and boy, she was so very right! This is one of the "Best" places for Sushi. A liitle far for me but it was well worth it. Great service and the pricing and the portions/presentation..... wonderful.

Okay, hands down the ultimate best sushi/ tempura in Palm Coast, Sushi is so so good and the salad dressing they use is a secret recipe they make there... excellent. I must say we get super service and they are not overpriced. Look forward to our next visit.

Another fantastic meal at Ai. I love their sushi, it is always delicious and fresh and authentic but I love all the other food so much too. Last night I had Japanese Fried Rice with chicken and tofu. Ai makes the best fried rice I have ever had. It is never greasy or "over-sauced" and the portion is huge. I had half for dinner last night and just enjoyed the rest for lunch today. I have never had a bad meal at Ai and I highly recommend it.

What a treat to have the best sushi in Palm Coast! The restaurant is very simple in deco , high in service and super in sushi, tempura is great and the over all experience is just right. Owner is very caring and Toom ( waiter) is always right on cue! He really knows his craft!

Good prices and decent portions, give this place a try!

I love their sushi! I think it was excellent! They staff is very friendly. I didn't regret ordering anything. And I also tried new things! I will always go back to Ai.

As always food great and service wonderful! Sushi awesome! always a treat, wish we could afford to go more often. The owner always personally takes care of us and is friendly and doesn't mind when we come in close to closing time (though we always call to check and be courteous).
