We had a party of 5 and the atmosphere was very pleasant and relaxed. We each got our orders quickly and the food and service were great. I got a Taco Salad and had enough for lunch the next day. The salsa was perfect and chips still warm. Very authentic Mexican restaurant!

We ate at this restaurant for the first time after it being open for some time. It was wonderful. All five people in the party ordered different things and each one enjoyed their meal. I had the pork with green verde sauce and it was outstanding. Others had fajitas, enchiladas, and burrito. The regular salsa was good and the hot salsa you can get upon request was hot and good. The chips were served warm which is great and not normally done. The owners also own two restaurants in Raleigh, NC. We hope they continue to stay in Palm Coast as it is the best in the area.

The good: food is reasonably priced, given the amounts, and the service was prompt (it helped that the place was dead at 6 pm, which should have been a red flag for us). The restaurant dining area was very clean, with good decor.

The bad: the quality of the food. Our kids' corndogs were way over cooked, my wife's Chimichanga was scorched, my taco was soggy, the chicken in my burrito was dry, and the beans were basically tasteless. Given that we were the only ones being served at the time, there was no reason for any of this.

Until I hear of some changes, I doubt if we will be back.

Not impressed. It wasn't terrible, but I can get better re-fried beans out of a can at home. It should have been a red flag that it was dead at 7 pm on a Friday night. Service was fast, we were in and out in about 35 minutes, but the waitress clearly didn't speak English. When I asked what kind of beer they had her response was "Mexican and Domestic" I will just have a water, thanks. They didn't offer any specials or suggest any particular meals. Food was bland. I won't go back. I will say that is seemed to be very clean and would have potential with a staff that was engaging and maybe some alcohol besides pre-made margaritas. We don't need to drink, but sometimes at the end of the week, we would like a glass of wine with dinner, and a relaxing night out. Unfortunately, Palm Coast does not have any good Mexican restaurants, take the drive to St. Augustine or Ormond Beach. It's worth it!

Excellent Mexican cuisine at very decent prices. Quite impressed with the size of the portions as well. Had to doggy-bag it and had the rest for lunch and usually I am able to finish a meal! I got something called Nachos Texanos and the flavor was simply out of this world!

We had lunch here on a Friday, and found the service to be very good. Restaurant was clean and seats were comfortable. But the chips and salsa were only so-so. Chips tasted like tostitos, and were a bit salty. The salsa was a picante sauce and very mild. We ordered several lunch specials including the El Fogon burrito. The tortilla was soggy, but the filling was EXCELLENT! So was the chile relleno. That diner declared it the best ever. Portions were large, and we left satisfied. Next time, I think I will ask if there is a way to order the El Fogon without the burrito.

OMG....If any of you call this authentic Mexican food, you have no clue! I ate there today after reading all the reviews. I lived in San Diego for 35 plus years, so I do know what good Mexican food is! This food was the worst I have ever ate. I will never go back, and just to let you know I tried the staple of Mexican food not knowing what to expect. I could not believe what was put on my plate.

I love this place. One of my favorite places to eat. I go here pretty much every week. The food is delicious & very fresh! Especially the chips & salsa. My personal favorite here are the fajitas. Excellent steak, awesome tortillas, the sides are very delectable! The rest of my family loves the burritos.

The atmosphere is great! They really don't Americanize it like Salsa's. The workers are very friendly & nice, great to talk to. They play Spanish music, have Spanish sports & the design is very comfortable & homey. I would prefer the booths though. It is a bit far from the table but it's no big deal.

The service is terrific! We're there finishing our SECOND basket of chips, only takes us like 15 to eat 1 basket & half the other, & out comes the food. Still fresh & delicious! Out of all the times I've been there, I've never experienced a mistake w/ our meals. It's a wonderful place for families & friends.

P.S. Margaritas are $3.00 on Fridays. $4.00 every other day it's open & they're the size of a small bowl!

I think Chris of Palm Coast needs to give this place another try & then re-write a Review. ;)

We ate here on Wednesday and really enjoyed the food. I had a shrimp dish that was nicely spiced and my husband had a chicken and steak parilla which was also good. The chips were fresh and light and the salsa was nice, too. The service was prompt and attentive and the decor was very nice, too. We also enjoyed the music which was piped in. We will definitely be back--we used to love Mis Amores but it closed and then tried Salsas, but were not real satisfied with their food. Cancun Grill is very good and we are looking forward to our next visit there!

Jose is always so wonderful and really is a great asset. Food is above average , chips and salsa are very good ( fresh)! I ways ask for the spicier salsa and they bring it to me with a smile. Love the food portions! The enchilada mole is a little too sweet ( more marinara style)I make my own mole much more traditional style. wish they had it more traditional.

Overall we love this place and come at least 2 to 3 times a month.Used to go the other place but they are cold and food is below average.

Came in for a early dinner and was immediately seated. Menu is full of all the usual myriad Mexican combinations with a few house specialities. Server bought out chips and salsa which were very good. I really liked the salsa and it's a nice touch given in personal carafes. Food was good but would of liked more spice. Server did not provide an option for this and it would of been nice. Table was rocky but decor is inviting. Server good and overall a very reasonable meal.

This restaurant is good but could be so much better. We went for lunch and no one was around to greet us, and when they did there was no warm greeting just one word... "Two?". The round tables had very worn looking table cloths stapled to them so we sat in a booth which was nice but the reach to the table was uncomfortably large.

The menu has a large selection of items with many very reasonable lunch specials. I ordered the El Fogon. The lettuce on my plate was not fresh and starting to turn brown, and the chicken inside the burrito was very dry and over cooked. But the flavors were good and portion size very generous. Their salsa is very good and the tortilla chips were nice and fresh.

Woman serving was pleasant but was very flat and didn't bring much to the experience. However, another server was far more interactive and he was the only one offering any warmness. Prices are very good. The awful TV's do nothing to enhance the place and with fresher ingredients and the little details fixed this could be a great restaurant.

I stopped in El Cancun one day during my lunch break with only a few minutes to spare, since I was in a hurry, I just ordered the taco salad and a lemonade. They brought it fast and it was great. The price was the same as taco bell, and wayyy better. I told the waiter I'd come back when I have more time to check out the good stuff!

We visited for a quick work lunch and had a much better meal than anticipated. The menu is mostly like all other Mexican restaurants and I had a burrito which was very tasty and a good size. My colleague had tacos which she enjoyed. Service was good at first but slowed after a while. We liked the complimentary chips and salsa. Prices were good too.

I had heard an advertisement about this restaurant. Good Mexican food on the east coast is really hard to find. Years ago I lived in Denver and had great Mexican food all the time. My wife and I decided to give this restaurant a try. We were really impressed. Quality of the food is superb. The recipes are not greasy nor are they covered with cheese. The salsa is good with chips and on the entrees. Service is good and the ambiance is good enough to remind us of trips to Mexico.

We enjoyed our meal here. The chips and salsa are good and being served in a carafe is a nice touch. The burrito dish I had was very tasty although it was a tad too wet for me... would of liked less sauce. My wife enjoyed her tacos and overall it was good value. The server was personable and he was always checking on us. We liked it here better than Salsa's. It's much calmer and the food had better flavors.
