Just called to place an order for carryout. The person answering the phone said just a minute and laid down the phone. I listened to all the conversations and drink orders around the bar for 15 minutes and finally gave up. Unfortunately we have so few options in the Hammock will say we will go there again-but only as a last resort.

Upscale wanna be wrapped in down-home service and atmosphere. We went to this place a couple of times when it was Mad Dog's. Our expectations were not very high. The local diner "atmosphere" is still there. The service is diner level too. Good but not great. Actually the food was pretty good, beating our expectations. The menu has several pasta sauce choices, only one type of pasta (gigantic spaghetti noodle tubes). I was warned by the waitress that the arrabiatta was super hot so I chose the spaghetti with fresh tomato sauce which was very good. (about $11.95) added on side of 6 shrimp (add on $5.95) that's a little pricey. The shrimp were slightly underdone but not enough to send back. Also on the menu was the obligatory local fried shrimp platter - along with several sides - collards, cream corn, cole slaw, etc. The nightly specials the waitress rattled off indicated that the kitchen has a wider range than the plastic covered menu. Including Risotto with a bunch of fish/seafood choices to go with it. Bottom line, we'd go back.

Love the burgers there! The best I have had in a long time. The BBQ pork egg roll is the best.

You know, it's getting better! There is hope here! We decided to try happy hour to test it out. First time back since the change in ownership. The food was ok. The woodfired pizza didn't taste like it was done in a woodfired pizza oven but not bad. It was a bit under done. The veggies on top were cool and the cheese was only half melted. The crust was a bit under done. Could be we were early, pizza oven was not fired up and the pizza was possibly grilled? Whatever, it was ok, could have used some Italian herbs likes basil or oregano and some garlic but not bad. The wings were fine. But no celery and carrot sticks? Pretty much blasphemy to serve wings without celery sticks. But the price, oh the price was excellent! Four stars for value.

We ate at Bubba and Gianni's for the first time last week and boy were we pleasantly surprised! The wood fire meat lover's pizza was the best my wife and I have ever eaten. We met the new owners from MI; they said it is the only wood pizza oven in or around Flagler County; Jacksonville may be closest alternative Positives included live music, kid friendly menu (7 choices under $6 including drink!), fast service and a fun atmosphere. Bubba's is now our new pick for a great time (and great deal) in the Palm Coast/St. Aug. area.

Had the nicest waitress ever. The owner was a complete sweetheart. Got the chicken parm and really liked it. The chicken was tender and the breading was not overdone like some places... Did not care for the pasta-too done.My friend had the veggie lasagna and liked it a lot. I will go back and try the pizza as it looked great... Oh and loved the wine.

Went for lunch with a friend yesterday and believe me it will be the last time. Ordered the pizza and asked to have half of the pie with pepperoni and she didn't think they would because she was told no special orders but after we insisted because there was nothing special about putting pepperoni on only half the pie she went and asked and came back to tell us that they would not, she kept apologizing. At that point we were ready to walk out but decided to stay. The pizza was OK. The owner or manager never came out to talk to us which if the waitress told someone about the situation should have.

Needless to say not a great experience. I have worked as a waitress for over 30 yrs and mostly in Italian restaurants and accommodating customers request is what gets good reviews.

Had the fish fry.. what a joke! Miniature piece of over fried dried out frozen fish. Waitress not even interested in how bad in was. Asked did you enjoy your meal but heard nothing when we complained. Noise level is beyond belief... couldn't even hear each other.

All meals were horrible from eggplant to meatballs to fish.

Used to go all the time when it was Maddogs. New Owners, New restaurant, and it was awful. The waitress was obnoxious. She squatted down to take our order which is no big deal just odd. I would expect that in a diner or something. She was quick to take food away, one of the members of our party had to grab the salad back from her, he was still eating it when she took it away.

We thought it was pricey. The Ceasar salad left very little to be desired it was small and expensive for what you got. They could hve at least cut up the lettuce. When I think of Ceasar salad, I don't think Iceberg lettuce either. I ordered Mahi, I am not sure it was cooked all the way as it was a little translucent. The portion was VERY small. My husband ordered spaghetti and meatballs, he took one bite and that was it. They did apologize and take it off the bill but I would think it would be pretty difficult to screw up sphaghetti.

Normally I give restaurants more than one try, not this place. I can't do it. The 4 other people in my party said the same thing.

Well, this ain't Bistro de Leon! We tried the Gianni side of the menu this time. We decided to keep it simple and try the meatball item. The pasta was nice, a bit over cooked. The hollow pasta is a nice touch, sauce in and on the pasta. The sauce was another matter. I liked it a lot more than the fresh pasta sauce that is served commonly these days (pomi dumped out of the carton) but it needed to be more developed. It just wasn't sophisticated enough, not even rustic enough. It was just there. The meatballs had flavor but mostly salt and pepper. The consistency was a bit rough, I think it comes from the bread crumbs being used in the meatball mix. They tasted a bit like the tough crusted bread we were served. Speaking of service, we had our entrees dumped on us at the same time as our salads and our drinks (we do this at home at a casual meal but when I go out, I expect more). Speaking of homey, the atmosphere is still as it was when it was the Maddog bar. We actually went there for the wood fired pizza widely advertised but alas, the oven is not yet ready. Regarding service someone needs to speak to the middle aged server about hiking up her dungarees when she squats to take an order (I hate it when they squat, you know that hi guys stuff), anyway her red under alls were displayed to the dining room and we didn't want to see that. Will we go back? If they get a pizza oven fired up we will and see how it goes.

I was very impressed with the Italian Cuisine. We enjoyed their home made pastas. Had the portobello Mushroom Raviolis. Delicious. We also had the Ravioli's with meat sauce (bolognese). It was GREAT. Really delicious meat sauce. I would definitely go back, as the chef is cooking real, authentic Italian sauces, as they make in Italy.

Heard some nice things about the restaurant from a few different people so my co-workers and I decided to try it out. Little did I know I was in for an AWFUL lunch topped off with even worse service!! Ordered the Eggplant Parm Pannini w/ french fries. When it arrived the pannini bread was burned and the sandwich was the driest thing ever! Requested some sauce on the side to try and salvage the awful sandwhich. The sauce did not help since the "eggplant parm" was paper thin and all I tasted was the burned bread. Took the sandwich apart to see that their "eggplant parm" was basically a thin strip of breading. Waitress noticed there was an issue with the sandwich and told me she would SHOW the sandwich to the chef - did not offer to take the meal off my bill since I did not even eat it! Basically I paid $10.50 for a soda since I left without eating! If this restaurant wants to stay in business they better learn some customer service!

I had the Gnochi and sweet potato soup AMAZING. If you are looking for Olive Garden this is not it. Portions are smaller but the emphasis is on quality. My prior visit I ordered the stuffed ravioli-out of this world.

Overall my dining experience at B&Gs was great, I had the egg-rolls with that special detali sauce that the restaurant recently got an award for and they where delicious. I even got to talk to the chef 15-20 min after closing and he sat down and had a drink with me and my friends, it was great. Food was fantastic and really good even though the portion size is relatively small.

Noisy, noisy, noisy!! One of our party ordered the rib-eye medium rare - it came well done. Bocatini carbonara was just o.k. Expensive for "what it is." Plus a bottle of wine was added to our check that we did not order. It was so warm, eating dinner was uncomfortable. Hard to have a conversation with dinner partners because of the noise. They will not give you separate checks. I think I've said that we will not be going back.

We tried the Bubba side of the menu this time. I prefer Italian but the Bubba side seemed the way to go tonight. Besides, I had already ordered a beer. The fried shrimp are excellent and large. They use fresh local shrimp of a nice size and they were perfectly deep fried. The Bubba Platter was pulled pork and brisket. Very good, my only complaint is that the platter needs to have more of the Datil sauce with the meat. The sides were very good to excellent. We had 2 drinks each and it only came to $44 and I think that's very reasonable. The Gianni menu could start to add up since there are no sides included on that side! Salads looked interesting but they should be at $4.50 for a side salad. Then again, out in California, a side salad is $7 or more. However, overall, this was very good food for the Palm Coast area. We're going wine and Italy next time. Regarding the atmosphere, I'm not sure what's up with that but it looks just like Mad Dog! Except they got rid of the awful yellow and black enamel. Seating is less than comfortable. Maybe he's waiting to see how this flies and then upgrade later if it's a success? I hope so. From a purely food perspective, this really was a breath of fresh air for the area. Service was patient and attentive.

They've only been open two weeks and are fairly well organized for that. The Italian menu is quite limited. The ONLY pastas are buccatini (kind of like long skinny macaroni), ravioli and lasagna. As other reviewers have said, the buccatini with meat sauce was not bad but you should get sausage or a meatball and a salad for the price. The buccatini with carbonara sauce was very bland, not enough of "the good stuff" in the sauce. Shaved parmesan on the top of both was a nice touch. I ordered the caprese salad and it was excellent. Our third diner got the gorgonzola steak which was o.k., plain pasta(?) accompanied it and no vegetable and he had to order a side salad separately. We got one bottle of wine. Our total came to about $40. per person and that was way too much for what we got. The noise level was deafening. The server was very nice. I might go back for the salad sometime if they make it and when it's not so busy. We didn't order from the "Bubba" side of the menu which is basically barbeque.

I can't figure out why this place was so busy, I think there are much better things out there for the money.

Why did this place open? The food was poor (mushy pasta) place is like an old roadhouse (not a good one) with wild paint and bland food. I told them I was not happy and they just avoided us.
We gave them a chance, I wish I would have just left when I went in but sometimes you can find good food. Not at this place.

Over priced and underfed, spaghetti and meat sauce $13.50, no meat balls or soup or salad. Just spaghetti, they do not serve meatballs or sausages, why do they call themselves Italian? They just lost 6 customers.
