First time and was pleasantly surprise. We had lunch and it was awesome.... We both had the shrimp salad with hot bread and my wife had a cup of gumbo. Just like New Orleans! One owner comes from New Orleans. service was excellent/ We definitely will go back. The food is spicy but outstanding.

Red Beans and Rice is my favorite, but the Gumbo is wonderful, also. The muffaletta is the best (except, of course, for the Central Grocery in New Orleans who created this overstuffed sandwich). One is enough for two people unless you like them cold the next day, which we do. They also have a nice beer and wine selection.

They also have dishes for those who are unable to eat spicy New Orleans food.

The owners are very involved with this cafe and make each visit a delight. Good staff, also.

Much better than we expected! This is a kind of quirky little place but very friendly. Their sandwiches are massive and their gumbo was pretty good. Didn't try a snowball but they looked good. Would go again when in Flagler Beach.

Went there for lunch recently. Cute little shop with very friendly staff. I ordered a Bayou Beef & Cheddar po-boy which was delicious. It was a little pricey for the portion. There are plenty of other establishments competing for my business that I would consider a better value. I am considering trying the muffeletto sandwich on a future visit.

As someone who grew up close to New Orleans and still visits on a regular basis, I have to say I was very pleased with the food, service and atmosphere. The muffaletta is the best I've had anywhere; even better than the one I had at K-Paul's (in NOLA) a couple weeks ago. The employees are very friendly and the decor reminds me of the little cafes on and around Bourbon Street. If you don't give it a try, you're missing out!

What a great surprise! HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Went to check it out and left a believer. Dirty rice is INCREDIBLE, full of all the great stuff you expect and loaded with flavor. I had the sampler and was thrilled with the huge portions. Thurs & Fri nite dinners look like they'll be a huge hit, if the flavor is anything like what I had at lunch. Iced Tea is fresh brewed and really good. I'll be back lots - proud to now be a "regular". And the "snowcones" will be a great treat on a hot day at the beach. Hooray for the Big Easy Cafe.

The Big Easy Cafe is the most original, fun restaurant in Flagler County. I love the new menu items, especially the sausage and pepper sandwiches. The bread pudding is to die for!

My Husband is from New Orleans area and relocated here after Hurricane Katrina... We have tried several "New Orleans" style places and by far this one is the BEST!!! He loves the atmosphere so needless to say we are there every week just about.... The food is always great! I love gumbo but my hubby makes it so spicy I can't really enjoy it... However Walt and Nicole's Gumbo is Great, I can eat it day in and day out.

Great Job to Nicole and Walt... Keep up the good work!

I am not sure why this is rated so highly. The food was bland and tasteless. My sandwich was so small I left hungry. The service was very slow the day I went there. The decor was non-existent, just some mardi-gras themed items placed on the walls. The place is clean, but that is something you would expect from a new restaurant in a brand new building.

We have been there a couple of times with a group of 10 or more and the food and service were very good. They are all very friendly and make you feel very welcome. Their desserts were very good also. Try the pralines!

If you don't get a chance to do anything else go to the Big Easy Cafe. Their true New Orleans dishes are fabulous and there is always something on the menu for those of us who can't eat seafood. The sign of a true restaurateur is that they think of every customer and have something for everyone.

And...their homemade pralines and bread pudding is to DIE for!!!!

So if you want a good time, wonderful food, a feel of New Orleans and the best service ANYWHERE....the Big Easy Cafe is the answer. Nicole, Walt and Kristy make you feel welcome and you will want to go back.

What a great experience! This cafe offers excellent food and great service in a charming cafe just off the beach. So very nice to have New Orleans come to Flagler Beach. The muffaletas were very good and very large. Can easily share 1/2 with a friend. The roast beef sandwich is excellent also. Home made pralines more than worth the calories. Will definitely be going back and telling others about Nichole and her gift to Flagler Beach.

We love this place! Stopped in today after the bed races in Flagler Beach. Wow... this is a little hidden gem in Flagler County. We are so lucky to have these folks! I had the chicory coffee, dirty rice, and a praline for dessert. YUM!! Super nice folks own this little cafe with a big heart. By all means, treat yourself and go!

We've eaten several times at the Big Easy Cafe and have found the staff and owners to be charming, and hardworking people. The food is delicious and has something for everyone. All of the selections are ample in size and abundant in good taste. Nicole and Walt, the owners, exemplify the American way of hard work, honesty and joy in what they do. Kristi, one of the waitresses, is efficient, professional, pleasant and a pleasure.

Everything combined for this restaurant...I want them to make a success but I hesitate to spread the word because they might get too busy for me :-)

Way to go Big Easy Cafe and welcome to Flagler Beach.

You have got to give the Big Easy in Flagler Beach a try. I know you will be back. Nicole, Walt and Christie are very friendly and will answer any questions you have or be there to let you sample something. I have had the shrimp poor boy several times and I love the flavors. The red beans and rice is also very good. Just tried Friday's Philly Cheese-steak special and again a home run. Thank you Nicole & Walt for bringing such great flavors to Flagler.
