I am pleased to report that we went there tonight for our anniversary with friends and family and we all enjoyed our meal. The service was very good...they were very accommodating, the food was good, we had no trouble at all with the bill. We all were very pleased with the whole evening. I did notice that some things have changed slightly since we were there last, but not in a negative way.... just different.

Since getting a new chef, Chicken by the Sea has improved 100%. They are running new specials and even added a lot of seafood to their menu. The chicken is to die for even better than KFC's or Popeye's. Check out the homemade desserts and their fried green tomatoes.

What has happened? We took friends there for lunch. Food was terrible, Dog food would have been better than the meatloaf. Out of the eight of us, the only meal worth eating was the chicken. At the end of the meal, we found out they did not and would not have separated the bill. Saying the guest check had to match what was sent into the kitchen (one of our party had asked previously to us getting there.) Also, at the counter is posted a sign which prefers you pay with cash. Please note: new menu are priced in single numbers but prices at paying are increased ($7.99 and not $7.00) and are not rounded off.

I sure know this is not the place for our family. Two trips in one.... first and last.

We went to this restaurant three times hoping that it had improved but were greatly disappointed. The food came out wrong each time, appetizers came after the dinner was served, some meals came out together but then some were missing we had to keep asking for our food, even though the food is half way decent it is not worth the money, time and aggravation it takes to get the meals. The staffing is low and with a restaurant full of people there was only one waitress, the service was very poor and every table had a problem with their food.

Without a doubt the worlds best fried chicken! The Fried green tomatoes are the best and so is the fried okra. It sounds like everything is fried but the Russian beer is terrific (yes Russian). A large menu with lots of things that are not fried but much of it is southern style. The new owner needs your help.

I have eaten at this restaurant several times now, and have had a wonderful meal every time. I love their chicken livers, but have also had their shrimp. I recommend this restaurant to everyone, especially those that love eating chicken out.

We love Chicken by the Sea at Flagler Beach, Florida! A friend and I have stopped twice for lunch meetings over the last month and a half to discuss the proposed Nation's Oldest Port National Heritage Area and the Heritage Crossroads projects. We have had the chicken livers and broiled shrimp dinners (special request). Both were delicious and fresh, with tasty sides including green beans, coleslaw, fried okra, and salad.

Our server was a delight and attended to our requests in a gracious and timely manner. We highly recommend Chicken by the Sea for a nice, relaxing dining spot that has a hometown feel with a lovely ocean view.

I hate to give such a low review because I have been there once before and everything was ok but not this time. We went there on Tuesday, August 18th about 5:30 pm and the service was about as poor as I have ever seen anywhere. Took about 20 minutes for waitress to take our order and about 45 minutes more to get it and when we got it, it was missing several items. When ordering, the waitress who was sure to tell us she was glad to be moved to Flagler instead of Fort Pierce where she came from, told us to avoid the salad because it wasn't good because they had problems in the kitchen, she then complained to us that the table next to us were causing her problems and being "unreasonable". We never got water refills until I got up to get it myself. When I pointed out that we were missing side dishes I was promised they would be right out but I had to get up and ask for them again. My son asked for ketchup for his fries and was told it was coming but then had to get up and get it off another table. At one point a manager came out and asked how everything was going, it was obvious he knew they had service problems and then the Russian lady who was the cashier finally started helping bring water. Manager didn't seem all that concerned and could only say that they were never sure how their evening would go depending on how many customers showed up. If this place could improve their service and attitude it would again be a nice place for a meal.

Today we had dinner at Chicken By The Sea. The food was excellent. I had fried chicken, fried squash, fried okra and loved all of my selections. My sister and my niece were with me and they really enjoyed their meals. We will definitely go back again. We read a review that said the food was greasy; we found that not true. Helen was the manager and all the staff was very friendly. We had to wait on our food about 20 minutes, but it was well worth the wait. You won't be sorry if you try them.

We went there on a Monday evening. They were Not crowded. The food was wonderful but the Service was the Worst ever. I would put Worst in all upper case if allowed to on this forum. We ordered an appetizer and told them it was an appetizer and 2 of us ordered the spinach raviolis not realizing it was an appetizer. Since it was all we ordered most would bring it with the rest of the meal or at least inquire. The fried green tomatoes came out then shortly followed by 2 spinach raviolis. 15 minutes later the other 2 people at the table got their meal. We never got a refill on our drinks, never had a plate cleared. Never an offer of dessert. My husband's decaf that he ordered for after the meal was never brought. We will probably never go back.

Not only have my wife and I found a great place to eat but we have found a place that actually does what it promises to do, serve great food. Tasked with providing a Thanksgiving banquet for all the associates where I work I was impressed with their pricing. Only $13.00 per person. I was worried, being tied to the Chicken Pantry in Bunnell Florida what was I to expect? Well, I was very impressed, so impressed that we had them come back to cater the Christmas banquet as well. I have been doing this coordination for a long time and Moe and Joe Chicken and that wonderful staff made this an absolute pleasure. Everyone was very pleased with the service, the food, and more importantly for me, the cleanup! Our associates work very hard all year and deserve nothing but the best and the Chicken by the Sea and Chicken Pantry people delivered 10 fold what was expected and then some! Want a great banquet? You have to call them and have them do your affair. When you go there you will not be sorry. They will even do a luncheon for you where you need it done, imagine that? Oh, and by the way, tell that crazy Helen hello for Dee would you please?

I hate to break the hype on this place but, I went there tonight (Friday) and was far from impressed. The chicken was awesome and the fried green tomatoes top shelf! It fell apart from there. The sides were mashed potatoes (old, dry and cold), corn (also old, dry and had actually turned a grayish color), beets (canned and fair) and fries (average). The time was before 6PM, not even late in the service. The staff was very friendly yet forgot drinks, silverware, napkins.......the bill was on the table before the entrees. No offer of dessert made. I didn't quite get it..........

I may try them again. Perhaps just stick with the chicken, which seems to be what they do best. Other than that they really have to work at keeping customers returning. I wish this place the best of luck but for the money I would rate it a 4 on a 10 scale.

My husband and I and my brother and his wife, who just arrived from the frozen north had dinner there today. Everything was great, two people had the fried chicken, the best you could find anywhere around here, the fried eggplant was so tasty, my stuffed flounder was delicious as was my brother's fish, all the sides were equally good, cornbread too. But the absolute best was the homemade cakes!!!!! Worth the trip from anywhere. Banana Split layer cake, three cake layers of vanilla, choc. and strawberry cake, deeeelicious frosting, bananas, nuts, choc syrup and a scoop of whipped cream on the side. We ordered 1 slice and 4 forks, we loved it so we ordered the apple cinnamon layer cake, my gosh it was the best apple cake we ever had, large slice with great frosting and whipped cream on the side, cake had apples or sauce in it to make it so moist. We plan on going back as many times as we can, even if it's for the coffee and CAKE!!!! Congratulations to the baker for a wonderful treat. A must go to place.

This is the best restaurant in Flagler! I went with a group of friends and had a great time. They have the best chicken I have ever had. Every person I was with thoroughly enjoyed their meal along with their experience. The waitress was extremely helpful and very attentive. Even though they were busy she still made it seem like we were her only customers. The atmosphere was beautiful, I especially loved the mural on the wall of the beach. A friend of mine recommended me to go here and I would highly recommend anyone to go to Chicken By The Sea. I will definitely be back.

This restaurant has the best chicken ever. If you are looking for some good food try the deep fried eggplant or squash. Attractive interior and nice view of the ocean. The staff is very friendly.
