My wife and I ate at Royale on Valentine's Day it was fantastic. My wife had the salmon and shrimp and I had the NY strip also the salad and escargot. This place is my favorite in Palm Coast.

We ate at Royal's for Valentine's Day and had a wonderful experience.

We arrived without reservations and were lucky to get seated. From our seat we could see other patrons being turned away later in the evening.

Our servers were attentive to our needs and everything arrived on time and perfectly cooked. We were quite impressed by the wait staff who seemed to be working very hard.

This was our second time at Royals. The first time, there were few people in the restaurant. This time it was jammed. Both times we enjoyed ourselves.

We are accustomed to eating at fine dining places and Royal's didn't disappoint. Valentine's Day dining can be iffy because of the large crowds. Many restaurants pack in more people than necessary and the experience makes you feel like you are in a cafeteria. We were happy that our Valentine's Day at Royals was a great one.

My husband, myself and another couple decided to eat here for Valentine's Day. We were looking forward to some delicious food and great company- we had stopped in a few days prior to check out their Valentine's Day menu. It seemed promising so I made reservations for 4. The beef Wellington and rack of lamb had been on our minds for days! We arrived at 8:00 pm on Valentine's Day. We did have reservations, but I realized immediately that they were not necessary.

The restaurant looked beautiful from the outside, it was all lit up with red and white lights. The inside needs help! The ambiance was ruined by the lighting (way too bright) and fans that were on full blast. We had asked to have the fans turned down but to no prevail. Our waitress came over right away to get a drink order. We ordered the champagne that was to come with our meals and our friend ordered a top shelf vodka drink. The restaurant was out of, or never had, the first few brands of vodka our friend requested. They were also almost out of the champagne that was included in the price of our meal. But they compensated by giving us a much bigger bottle. It was not the type of champagne we wanted (much too sweet), but it was a nice gesture. Not sure why they were not well stocked with the other champagne on Valentine's Day! After we got our drinks, we nibbled on some freezer burned bread. It was not fresh at all. Everyone knows that the bread sets the tone for the meal... Our 2 salads arrived and our waitress had no idea who got which salad. We asked about the "Robert Sauce" and our waitress stated we were asking the wrong person. Huh? Who do you ask then?? I had ordered the beef Wellington, my husband ordered the rack of lamb. Our friends ordered the stuffed chicken and the stuffed fish. After about 45 minutes our waitress arrived with our meals. Once again, she had no idea who got what and called out the meals and waited for us to claim them.... I felt like I was at a diner... Our meals were decent, nothing extraordinary. They also were not all that hot. After a few minutes my friend realized that the chicken that she was eating, and that we all tried- was raw in the middle of the breast. It was very raw, not just a little pink. Her husband had to get up to find someone to tell. Our waitress came over and apologized and asked if she wanted something else. She stated she wanted to think about what she wanted. The waitress did not come back over for several minutes to ask what she wanted next. By that time, it was just too late to wait for something else. She was ok with it though, she kind of lost her appetite. At no point did a manger come over to make amends of the situation. We waited for several minutes to have the rest of our dishes taken after we finished our meals. Another waitress came over and asked if we were ok while we waited for our table to be cleared, but did not take anything. She did roll her eyes at us though when we stated we were not fine. The waitress finally returned and cleared our table. She asked about dessert and stated it would be on the house. Another nice gesture, but honestly, it was the least they could do. She then began to list them, and forgot them some. She stated she was having a "brain fart" and then re-listed all of them again. Well I'm guessing that was all of them.... We ordered the creme brulee. It was a good size portion and was the best thing I had there. I do not recommend this restaurant. It is a fine dining establishment, and believe me, I'm using that term loosely..that needs some serious revamping. They need to begin with their staff and invest in a meat thermometer!

We went to Royale Jan. 16, 2009. The service was great and the food was even better...from the chicken alfredo to the salmon. Great early bird specials, too! I can't wait to go back.

Although 4 out 5 reviews in December were not good, we tried the Royale. Our server was Blonka and she was excellent. I tried the pork chop with garlic cream sauce which was juicy and flavorful. Other dinners in our group of six were also excellent. The Russian dumpling was very flavorful. The service was excellent, we were seated promptly and our drinks were served along with the bread. Appetizers were served and our orders were taken in a timely fashion. I don't know the reason for the poor service in December but apparently management rectified the problem. The food was very tasty and I would go back again.

Can bad service ruin good food? The answer is, absolutely. We recently dined as a party of eight at this restaurant. Reservations at 5:30 and we all were there promptly. The place is attractive and the menu impressive. The early specials also seemed to be nice variety reasonably priced. We waited to have our drink orders taken we waited for the order to be filled.at no time during the three hours was my ice tea ever refilled, despite several requests. The salad I ordered was never brought and the server was impossible to get hold of to get anything. When dinner came the food was good, when we were finished we asked for coffee and dessert menus.Thirty minutes later we given menus Several of the desserts were unavailable, a fact we where made aware of only after attempting to order them. Dessert and coffees were finally served and checks requested. One hour and five (5) requests later for the checks we finally were forced to go into the lobby and stands and wait while the checks were being done. We continued to be patient and tried to be understanding about the poor service. Ultimately I could not reconcile ever going back despite the good food for two reasons. First the service was so poor even despite making as many allowances as humanly possible was unforgivable, and secondly and most importantly at no time did a manager/owner come to check the tables in the dining area. Had this been done they would have been made painfully aware that things were not going smoothly and something could have been done to rectify it. Instead, eight individuals left that restaurant and will pretty much not return, and more importantly will tell everyone about their negative dining experiences and the apparent lack of concern of the management staff.

I work in an upscale restaurant in Ormond Beach and am constantly asked about good places to eat in Palm Coast. Unfortunately for the Royale Cafe there is no way in good conscience I could ever recommend this place. Sorry! My suggestion check out the other places at the European Village but take a pass on the Royale.

I had the opportunity to visit this restaurant during the Christmas holiday. It was beautifully decorated, and the atmosphere was just right for an evening of fine dining, but there were very few customers. After being seated, it took about 30 minutes before a server took our order. The meal was actually served 60 minutes later. The food was fresh, but it did not have much flavor. The portions were also very small.

Royale has wonderful ambiance, a great location, and lots of potential. With improved customer service and better food, it could become one of Flagler's finer restaurants. At this time, I definitely would not place it on that list.

Our reservation was for 6 p.m. and we arrived right at 6. The staff was friendly, the place looked festive for the holidays and we were seated promptly and given menus. There was only one other table that was occupied at the time and one table had just finished as soon as we sat down, so essentially there were only two tables that needed waiting on in the entire restaurant.

Once seated, we waited 15 minutes before our drink orders were taken and then an additional 20 minutes before the waiter returned to take our food orders. They brought us pitchers of Sangria, which was good, but neglected to fill our water glasses. While waiting for our food, we often had empty water glasses and had to wait long periods for refills. After about 30 minutes or so we asked about the delay for the food and we were told it would be out shortly. We did not receive our food until 50 minutes after we ordered it (we timed it).

When the food did arrive, they had taken down my order incorrectly and I had to wait an additional 20 minutes for my food to be brought out. By the time my dinner arrived, everyone else at the table had already finished eating. The food was okay but the portions were small and the service was very poor. They also tried to charge us for the food that had to be returned (even though they brought out the incorrect meal).

I don't live in Palm Coast, but I do have family that live there and we all agreed to try out this new restaurant. Unfortunately, that proved to be a mistake. Overall, our whole family was extremely disappointed and upset with the service. It was not a good experience and we will not return.

We had a very nice meal here on Christmas Day. The entrees were well prepared and the desserts were delicious! Although they appeared to be short-staffed, everyone tried to make our evening enjoyable. The early menu was unavailable that night, but the regular entrees were excellent and reasonably priced.

Was there for the first time with out-of-town guests and friends from Palm Coast. The food was excellent, the drinks were generous, and the staff friendly. We were concerned that there was a wedding rehearsal dinner for 70 guests and it would interfere with the service and food but it didn't. Our guests were impressed and left with positive impression of Palm Coast.

After a long trip from Canada to Palm Coast we heard about European village and decided to stop there for dinner. We walked around looking for a good restaurant to eat at and we decided to eat at Royale.

After looking through the amazing menu I decided on Escargot a la Royale and my wife Blue Crab Cakes as an appetizer. For our main course I ordered the Filet Mignon Napoleon and a Stuffed Filet of Panga. As a desert I ordered the amazing Tiramisu and Creme Brule. Everything we ordered was Spectacular and out of this World!!!

The service was Excellent! Cristina my server knew how to answer all my questions and gave us, amazing service!

Thank you Royale Restaurant the service and food was excellent you deserve 6 stars in my opinion!! (we will be back)

Extensive menu, good food, good service, and reasonable prices. Very nice ambience as well, a good choice for special occasions. This place needs more business in the off season due to the lack of traffic in European Village - many people don't even know they are there. Definitely worth checking out!

We have been enjoying dinners at Royal for the past year. Their Sunset menu was recently updated with new entrees and extended until 8p.m. We have tried multiple entrees on this menu and have been very pleased with all of them. We are always pleased with the food quality and service. They have a paella for two that is out of this world. The decor of the restaurant is beautiful and always clean. We especially enjoy Sunday afternoon when Rick provides live music. He is truly one of the finest guitar players that you could ever hope to hear.

Wanted to try for some time and finally made it last weekend. Even took advantage of their early bird specials. We took a noted food critic (will remain anonymous) to explore theRoyale with us. Split a Caesar Salad for one --- big enough for all four of us -- -very good but could use more "snap" and there were no anchovy filets to top dress, only the paste was used. Bummer here.

Crab, veal, and filet entrees were outstanding---as good as any in town.
Cream Brule' and three layer chocolate mousse were very good.
    Service excellent---thanks Blanca!

Side note: Their phone number changed several weeks ago but Flagler Online didn't get around to updating it until I called their attention to it. Was getting message, "not in service--disconnected". Wonder how many customers they lost who thought they went out of business. Carlos (MGR) should make sure they followed thru! We will be back. Watch for food critic review soon.

Excellent food. Service staff needs major training. Ordered Cabernet Sauvignon received Chardonnay. Asked specifics regarding Specials, needed to ask kitchen. Brought us over bread but we had no utensils, napkins or plates. Needed to ask for fresh ground pepper with appetizer than again with the entree. This place will be worth it if they can train their staff properly.
