Went for dinner some time ago (sorry for the late review). Chicken wings came out still frozen in middle, my fish special was ok, spouses stuffed flounder was horrible (taken out of frozen supermarket box, soggy and tasteless). Bottled beer was ok (hard to mess that up). Service was TERRIBLE. Do yourself a favor and pass this place up.

This place needs so much help. Our waitress was the ONLY redeeming quality. We got fish (atleast that was what we ordered, but we couldn't tell...), and fried shrimp- it was ROCK HARD and burned. We were going to send it back, but decided to just pay and leave. We attempted to give the shrimp to our dog... even she turned up her nose!

I moved here and could not wait to go to this restaurant. I thought is is a great place to have a restaurant. I walked in took one whiff and wondered why the health department hasn't closed this place down? They really should just charge a sitting fee or let people bring in their own food to see the view.

The Manager of this restaurant is the most "RUDE" of anyone I have ever met. He is fooling himself, if he thinks that his restaurant will stay in business with this attitude. The view is great; food is terrible; Manager and Cashier are absolutely the worst in this area. Hopefully, someone will buy him out someday to create a nice dining place to enjoy the beauty of the sea.

Wow, after reading these reviews "ouch!" I have only dined there for breakfast, and honestly coming from a beach town myself in South Florida, I would never think that a "pier" restuarant would have a good meal. However, I know you can't really screw up scrambled eggs, bacon and hashbrowns with toast. The scenery is nice and the breakfast is normal diner breakfast. I will recommend Friends Cafe or Java Hut though just because they are unique to Flagler. Yet, I would eat breakfast here again.....I love sitting oceanside without the wind. We were seated at a window where it felt like we were on the ocean. Staff was nice, it was early and they were tired though. A typical diner that is trying to be more. Don't let it fool you. Picture a truck stop with a view.

One word - atrocious! The food is insipid and the service lacked in every department. This place is a complete waste of probably the best restaurant location in Flagler County. Such a shame as the views are great.

We tried this ploace for breakfast and it was terrible. The food is low quality, too greasy and poorly cooked. Service was OK but getting coffee refills was an effort.

One star for the view! Service, although friendly, was slow and poor. The food was diabolical! Badly seasoned, badly cooked and badly prepared! This restaurant suffers from any lack of management skills, people skills, and definitely a lack of cooking skills.

There are two good things I can say about The Pier Restaurant. The first is that it has a great view. The second is that our waitress was friendly, attentive, and did all she could to make us happy, but happiness would play no part in this review...

My company and I placed our orders. First the Peel & Eat Shrimp for my company, and the Cioppino (a seafood stew) for myself.

Ordering sides was entertaining. We would ask for something. Our waitress would make a face. She would scrunch-up her nose, purse her lips, and wait for us to try again. "What's wrong with the veggies?" we asked. "They're out of a can", she explained. "OK. How about the mashed potatoes?" Again, she made the face. "What are they, out of a box?", we asked jokingly. "Yeah!", she said. Visibly embarrassed, she recommended a baked potato, which we took without argument.

After a bit of waiting, our waitress rounded the corner to our table to inform my company that her Peel & Eat Shrimp came already peeled... Now, I've been to restaurants where you couldn't get things the way you wanted, but not being able to get something the way they wanted was a new one for me. My company opted for a stuffed flounder in lieu of peelable shrimp.

My company's salad and bread arrived. My order didn't include a salad, and thank goodness. It must have been prepared days in advance. Iceberg lettuce, cucumbers, onion, and beefsteak tomato, all wilted at the cut edges, and too cold to be served.

After a half hour or so, our food came out. My guest's Flounder looked OK, as did my Cioppino. I arranged my bowl and took my first bite. "Crunch, crunch..." With every bite there were grating sounds of sand, or perhaps bits of shell. Curious, I started to dig in the bowl to find the source of the sound.

While I was digging, my company was giving the flounder the once over. "There is no taste!" Perhaps she was coming down with some sinus illness that was affecting her ability to taste. I took a bite, and let's just say my company's taste buds were working perfectly. I returned to my little excavation project.

The first thing I noticed was that there were several bits of sea life in my bowl I didn't recall seeing on the menu. Upon further inspection I found little squid. They couldn't have been any larger than an inch or so, and they were everywhere. I plucked one from the bowl to give it a closer look.

Squid are very interesting animals. They have many parts to them, most of which you don't tend to run across during dinner. Generally, squid will be prepared for consumption. There are odd little parts like ink sacks, and venom glands that should be removed in this process. There is also a beak which squid use to eat. This beak is quite rigid and glassy, and rest assured, if your dinner has one, it has not been cleaned.

Now I knew where the "crunch" was coming from.

As my survival instinct began to kick in, we asked for the check, paid, and left. My company went to the rest room, and as if this establishment was issuing a final blow, she was greeted by a cockroach.

The star is an acknowledgement of our waitress' job well done, for without her, there would be none.

I wish the hurricane would have taken this restaurant instead of the one next door. went for dinner just for the heck of it to see the view . saw a roach . paid kind of high price for sub par food.

I have gone to breakfast at 7 a.m. many times, but this morning I arrived at about 10:30 a.m. The three people in front of me were waiting for a window table. After they were seated, I told the hostess that I would like a window table. When asked how many in my party, she said "oh, we can not seat a single person at a window table." The tables in the dining room are all for 4-tops, so there are no small tables for two people. This was very discriminating to me as a single person. I will never, ever step foot into the Pier Restaurant again. At least I do not have to put up with the fear of a cockroach in my napkin like I did last spring.

We went to have a meal at the Flagler Pier Restaurant to check it out. However, we never bothered to stay.

The view was excellent, however from the start we knew this was going to be a flop. The waitress/hostess could not be less welcoming... She cleaned a table for us with a sopping wet rag that left the table not damp, but quite wet and wreaking of mildew.
The entire atmosphere was grungy. The menu seemed to be normal diner fare, which is fine....
However we did not stay as the total ambience and odor were not condusive to enjoying a meal.

I have only had breakfast at the Pier but you can't beat the view, the food and the prices. Friendly service just adds to the experience. You may have to wait a few minutes for a table on the weekends because it is the place to be to eat your first meal of the day!

The waitresses have always been the greatest in service & attitude.
The food is basically greasy diner food at its worst.
What saves the Pier is the view. Everyone passing by stops in during the day. (Skip the visit at night.)
The Pier owners could be billionaires if they upgraded the menu and the cooking as well as cleaning up this dump.
