Dinner last night, first time here. Food... OK, Service.... friendly (too friendly, waiter talked too much), attire, dungaree shorts and t-shirt???, even owner dresses like this, Atmosphere... place echo's, no good. I do want to listen about a 15 foot alligator, or snake, I do not want to be served by a shorts and t-shirt waiter and I do not want an owner who dresses the same asking how everything is. Will not go out of my way returning to this place. Needs work, by grown-ups.

Just left Sandy's about 40 minutes ago. Black and Blue rib eye steak and fried Mahi Mahi was awesome.. My friend had the Coconut Flounder with Orange sauce that was "Slap yo Mama" GOOD. Also had fried green tomatoes and fried pickles for appetizers that were something to write home about.... We also shared the Sunshine Cake which is an orange cake that makes you sit back and smack....

I don't know how anyone could complain about this place.....Will be a regular customer.

Had early bird spec., 8 fry shrimp, done perfectly, hush puppies and two sides and a drink. Everything was great, service by Anthony was right on. Owner checked on us at the end and said everything was great, will be back. Great early bird spec. Now you know why they are doing well as a new rest. in Palm Coast.

My husband and I have eaten here 6 times now and we love the dinner menu. The lunch menu needs some work. We would like to see some offerings of soup, sandwich and small salad combos for lunch. We have found the seafood (especially the calamari wonderful). The service has been great! Everyone is friendly and food comes out quick. I would ding them on the decor more than anything but perhaps that is still a work-in-progress, at least that's what it looks like to me. They do need some shutters or something around the inner area where the buffet used to be. It is just too open and loses its sense of warmth. If they would follow the ocean like theme that they have started that would be great. They also need some high tables in the bar area at the end and where the staff come out of the kitchen. The staff is frightening with those huge trays balanced over your heads as they scurry through there.

As a true Floridian I was relieved to find a place that serves the food I grew-up with and love. Southern cooking, warm and friendly southern service and a comfy back home atmosphere. I absolutely loved it! I will be back again, very soon :)

This was the first trip to have lunch as a office staff...The place is very clean, but no change at all from which was before "China Buffet", food was very very good...I will tell everyone to go and try. When it comes to service - horrible, very slow, staff is in jeans and t-shirts and no table personality.... so to advise the owners they have little work to do on staff part.

I loved this place!! it is family owned and operated. Our food was amazing. I hate to be the one to point this out but 99% of all appetizers at any restaurant are frozen. I loved the mozzarella sticks and the corn nuggets. I had the "black and blue" steak which is a special and not listed on the menu, please ask your waiter for it. My party also had the "sunshine cake" and chocolate cake for dessert and they were amazing. I am now a regular customer!

Wow! I just don't understand such wildly divergent reviews, but there is no doubt that previously stated faults are factual: dingy decor with mismatched seating, a menu of frozen, fried food that doesn't belong in a "seafood and steakhouse," and stale desserts. It really is just an ordinary diner with servers in jeans and T-shirts.

Had mid-afternoon lunch on Wednesday, it was an enjoyable meal. Seated nicely, order taken and served quickly. Service was friendly and attentive. Meal consisted of Minorcan Chowder [ most excellent ], fried shrimp that were good, baked ' tater and a fruit cocktail that could have been chilled more. Sweet tea was OK, not strong. Basically a good meal, but the dessert was spectacular. Orange cake, which was suggested by server, that was simply wonderful. I understand their entire cake menu is special. The manager told me they were getting lots of compliments on their steaks.

I noticed several folks sitting at the bar who seemed to be enjoying themselves.
Overall the place is clean, very friendly, with good food. It is still trying to develop an atmosphere of its own,and will continue to improve. Would make a good place to have meetings, banquets, parties, etc.

We went for dinner on a Thursday night about 5pm, party of 4. Dinner was awesome! Salads were fresh and food brought out in a timely manner. Staff could not have been friendlier. Can't wait to go back. Surf and Turf: Steak could be cut with a fork and the coconut shrimp was perfect.

Went with friends and some children for dinner. Have heard several good things about the food. Was greeted by friendly people at reception area. Ordered prime ribs.crab cake, chowder and some kids meals.. Food was excellent. Cooked perfectly. Even the baked potatoes were cooked perfectly. Everything was great including the service. The wait staff was amazing. Even servers that weren't "ours" cleared our plates. I thought that was nice that they worked as a team. Minorcan clam chowder was homemade and amazing ! Desserts were delicious and good size portions. Had to bring some home. Will definitely be back!

Had dinner there on Sunday with friends. We had rib eye steak which was tasty but on the thin side. The service was very good and the prices are right. The ambiance at the restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. It is a very big place and a few silk trees, pictures on the wall and dimming of the lights would give it a much warmer and cozier atmosphere. They need to read the reviews and correct this little problem. All in all this could be a "happening place" but needs a little more warmth.

I have eaten at Sandy's numerous times. They're food, prices and service are amazing. I've read many of the comments on here about this restaurant and I'm rather appalled at some of the comments. I have actually had the opportunity to tour the kitchen. I was interested in their fresh preparation. For those that said the food is processed, frozen, or store bought, I can ASSURE you that is not the case. The onion rings are made fresh per order. The calamari is hand breaded. The fried pickles and fried green tomatoes (yum!) are also prepared fresh per order. In the few times I've been there, I've ordered the NY strip, Rib Eye, mozzarella sticks, onion rings, blackened chicken and a variety of other items. I've found fault in none of them. I would definitely rate Sandy's #1 in town and shame on those who make assumptions. I can assure you, the meat is cut freshly daily, the Bubba burger is not in fact a "bubba burger". It is an Angus beef patty cooked to order with cheese and onion rings. My friend sampled this, and she was quite happy with it. I'm so angry that people can make such harsh comments. For the man that made the comment attacking the cook, shame on you. You don't know that man. You don't need to personally attack him.

I'm just a citizen of Palm Coast and frequent eater outer. I just see a great opportunity for a phenomenal restaurant. Give them a chance. The food is great and the service is amazing! Not to mention the owners have been there every time I've gone in, and they meet and greet every table. You get a lot of personal attention during each visit.

Again, I've gone back multiple times, and I intend to keep going back. Those that have had issues on their first visit need to chill out and go back in. Really, you don't know what you're missing.

The fish sandwich plate included a 3 inch bun with a little 3 inch piece of breaded fish and some fries for $9. Bubba burgers were cooked from frozen bubba burgers you could purchase at Publix topped with completely melted off processed American cheese. Beans were canned beans, the manager admitted this. Onion rings had no flavor at all. How can you call this a restaurant when you are just warming up prepared processed food? This place tops my list as the worst restaurant I have ever been to. Sorry to see another sub par restaurant in Palm Coast. The manager was upset when we questioned him about how the waitress said the food was fresh from their farm and it turns out the vegetables were just warmed canned food. His answer "You can't please everybody". I highly doubt they are pleasing anybody with taste buds. One good mark for this so called restaurant, the waitress was good, attentive and very sweet.

I went in this evening with my husband for dinner, there was a bit of a wait so we decided to eat at the bar. He had the minorcan red chowder and I tasted it~ it was DELICIOUS! We split a surf & turf and I'm glad we split it because the portions were huge. The bartender made a mean margarita too... The only disappointment was the food took a little while, but after we got it we decided it was worth the wait. The dining room is HUGE, so I realized that when they're at capacity it might take the kitchen a little longer to keep up with a full restaurant. Overall it was a good dining experience and we will be back.

WOW, I have lived in st. Augustine all of my life any only a few restaurants can do what Sandy's does. The shrimp are just like Barnacle Bill's was 20 years ago, Palm Coast you should be proud! Met all of the owners on Friday and they are all family and locals of st. Augustine and Hastings area. The surf and turf that I had was awesome! cooked to a perfect mid rare and man, the shrimp are what I grew up on. If you want true local st. Augustine food go to Sandy's.

Definitely a family atmosphere. Food average, I believe everything is pre-frozen. Salad very fresh, not bagged salad. Not fresh cut fries. I think breaded items are brought in frozen. Not a bad experience, but nothing extraordinary.

My wife and I actually enjoyed dinner for one reason and one alone, we laughed so hard because we realized what a joke this place is! Let me just point out that to call yourself a "seafood and steak" restaurant and then to turn around and serve "commercialized" and prefrozen appetizers is hilarious. If anyone likes the calamari rings that the Schwanns man sells, go to Sandy's. Oh and Mozzarella sticks too. The waitstaff mixed up our orders and the server didn't know the difference between mahi mahi and tuna when our plates were brought out. She actually gave our friends the wrong plates and we had to figure it out on our own. The steaks were quite small for being called a "10oz" and selection on steak is minimal. The menu is very linear and dull. They need to hire someone who can cook a decent steak and fire the current cook (sorry dude but your skills are rusty and fading) and also need to buy better cuts of meat. An advertised "Seafood and Steak" restaurant should serve Certified Angus and not bottom of the barrel cuts.I'm actually giving one star instead of none because the clam chowder was actually quite good (The white New England style....The red Manhattan style they serve was disgusting) . I CANNOT recommend this restaurant, and hope I save some local restaurateurs some time and money. Sorry
